When “All About The Bass” singer Meghan Trainor saw Taylor Swift at the American Music Awards (AMA), she wanted to go over and say “hi” to the 1989 hitmaker – but she hesitated.
Why?
Trainor has as a lot of success this year with confidence anthem: “All About The Bass” – a song which successfully promoted a healthy, body positive message and inspired millions of fans around the world.
In fact, the “All About The Bass” anthem was the one that pushed Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” from the number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and stayed there for eight weeks.
Now, Trainor’s name has been listed in two of the biggest categories of the Grammy Awards: Song Of the Year and Record Of The Year.
So why was Meghan Trainor scared to say “hi” to one of Pop Music’s biggest acts?
“I saw her at the AMAs — I was too scared to say hi. She looked really busy!” said Trainor.
Trainor admitted she is a huge fan of Taylor Swift and has just not had the right opportunity to meet her. But Taylor Swift is not the only one who is busy. Trainor admits that she too has been quite busy since the release and success of “All About The Bass.”
“All the doors are open now. Everyone wants to work, and it’s not a struggle anymore like it was when I was 18 and signed to country publishing and no one in L.A. wanted to write with me. Now writers and producers are calling and saying, ‘Is she available for a session?’ It’s definitely changed my whole life.”
According to Bilboard, Trainor has been covering “Shake It Off” in concert over the past few months.
Trainor has also covered Justin Beiber’s “Under The Mistletoe” in concert. According to J-14 Online, Justin took to Twitter to compliment Meghan on her performance, tweeting: “Nice job @Meghan_Trainor. #Mistletoe :)”
But though Trainor has been doing quite a few covers, it doesn’t mean she doesn’t have enough of her own.
According to Billboard, Trainor has also been busy preparing for a big start to 2015: her debut full-length , Title , is due out Jan. 13, and a North American headlining tour begins in Vancouver on Feb. 11.
As she gets in shape for the biggest awards in world music, Trainor said she would appreciate getting either Song Of the Year and Record Of The Year for “All About The Bass”.
We also bet Megan Trainor would also appreciate a good conversation with Taylor Swift at the 2014 Grammy Music Awards.
