Marijuana coffee is on its way to the state of Washington, ladies and gentlemen, so if you are one of those antiquated souls who stills consumes boring, old conventional tea, soda or coffee in the morning, it’s time to upgrade your swagger! That’s right, folks! Come July, you’ll be able to start your morning with an mmm-mmm delicious and exciting chug of Legal, as the cold-brewed concoction of coffee and THC will be known.
According to My Northwest , this exciting new marijuana-based beverage was conceived by Longview, Washington resident Adam Stites. His goal is to help Americans like you experience a pleasant ‘wake and bake’ that will in effect jump-start your nervous system, but not leave you feeling completely debilitated – something that can easily occur if you consume too much marijuana too quickly:
“We want the experience to be more similar to that if you had a nice IPA or glass of wine. We don’t want to pack so much THC into every one of our drinks that it’s unpleasant, especially for people that are just getting into marijuana.”
Indeed. Each bottle of this marijuana coffee will contain exactly 20mg of THC. Measuring the potency of marijuana remains extraordinarily difficult due to the vast differences in strains. However, according to High Times , “… [T]he dose for an average human is about 20 to 25 milligrams.” So if anything, the Legal marijuana coffee drink should provide just enough THC to at least get you buzzing.
Not a coffee fan? No problem! The Legal brand will also be launching three juice-based sodas (Rainier Cherry, Lemon Ginger and Pomegranate) that too will contain THC. Keep in mind that the marijuana coffee itself will be available in two strains: one that is plain and one that contains cream and sugar.
And if you are one of those people who are big on rules, laws and regulations, then have no worry! Stites’ marijuana coffee and soda drinks will of course be closely regulated by Washington state law. In case you are wondering, yes, marijuana is 100% legal in the state of Washington .
The only thing yet to be determined is the price. It will be heavily dependent on how many stores are willing to stock the drinks on their shelves. The good news is that according to Stites, his operation is prepared to produce hundreds of these drinks per hour.
Interested in learning more? Feel free to check out Legal’s official website or follow it on Twitter or Facebook ! In the meantime, make sure you start tossing out all those dilapidated containers of Folgers in your cupboards, folks, because it’s clearly time to upgrade to some marijuana coffee!
