The Lone Ranger star Armie Hammer apparently doesn’t have any interest in tackling the role of Batman in Zack Snyder’s upcoming sequel Man of Steel 2.

The folks at Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures are reportedly putting together a deep list of possible candidates to play the Caped Crusader in the proposed team-up. According to Hammer, he’s officially taking himself out of the running.

“I’m not actually a big fan of superhero films. If you have a guy who is supposed to be invulnerable, then what’s the point?” he recently explained to Digital Spy .

While he’s not interesting in playing the Dark Knight in Snyder’s Man of Steel 2, Armie Hammer definitely thinks Bruce Wayne could take Clark Kent in a fight. At the end of the day, the actor believes it all comes down to the gadgets .

“I would have to go with Batman. He’s got more technology and he actually has a piece of kryptonite that Superman actually gave him to beat him,” he told the website.

Now that Armie Hammer has taken himself off the list for the Man of Steel sequel, fans of the franchise can begin obsessing over the other folks who are rumored for the gig.

The Inquisitr previously reported that industry insiders believe everyone from Ryan Gosling to Joseph Gordon-Levitt are being eyed for Batman. However, other sources claim that Josh Brolin is presently the top candidate for the follow-up.

Reports suggest that Snyder wants someone in their late-30s or 40s to play Bruce Wayne in the film. In addition to being in spectacular shape, this individual would have to look very distinguished in a suit. It’s not surprising that Brolin is being considered for the part.

Before you start crying about the actor’s involvement, it’s worth noting that the film is still in the very early stages of casting. Since the script isn’t quite finished, no one has been approached for the role just yet.

If you’re disappointed that Hammer and Henry Cavill won’t square off in Superman vs. Batman (aka Batman vs. Superman), then at least you’ll get to see them together in director Guy Ritchie’s adaptation of the TV series The Man from U.N.C.L.E. The film should arrive next year.
