Longshot Republican Candidate Carly Fiorina Runs Against Hillary Clinton

Carly Fiorina is a candidate for the Republican nomination for president for 2016, but much of her focus while campaigning is going after Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton, the New York Times reports. Earlier today, Fiorina showed up at a hotel in South Carolina where Hillary Clinton was speaking, and set up a press conference to take on Clinton.

Fiorina criticized Hillary Clinton for the recently reported scandals involving the Clinton Foundation, stating “Last year we didn’t know all the things that we now know about the Clinton Foundation.”

The New York Times reported the questions asked by the press showed Fiorina’s appearance was viewed more as a stunt than a campaign stop. “One reporter asked if Ms. Fiorina was being used by men in the Republican field to harass Mrs. Clinton,” the New York Times reported.

Fiorina suggested she had planned the appearance in South Carolina several weeks ago and suggest maybe Hillary Clinton was following her, and claimed her campaign was about a lot more than “Clinton bashing.”

Speaking back to the press, Fiorina said, “I hope you will continue to be as aggressive with Mrs. Clinton, wherever she is.” She urged them to hold Hillary Clinton accountable.

Politico reports that Fiorina is shadowing Hillary Clinton but also has a goal of moving into the top ten GOP candidates for president in 2016 in order to be included in the debates during the Republican primary and caucus season. By taking Hillary Clinton to task on the campaign trail, Fiorina is getting much-needed news exposure as a candidate.

Fiorina has strongly attacked the Democratic front runner, asking “How can we trust Mrs. Clinton?,” and further stated, “We know that her family foundation has had to refile five years worth of (tax) returns because it failed to disclose donations from foreign governments. We know that she only had one email in her server, that she put a server in her basement, that it was convenient not to rely on federal government emails. We know that Benghazi was a terrorist attack despite the fact that she told us it was a protest gone bad.”

Carly Fiorina is the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard and an unsuccessful Republican nominee for U.S. Senate from California in 2010.

Fiorina has been called the “Worst Tech CEO” also running for president, the Inquisitr reported earlier this year. The more attention she gets as a candidate, the more attention might be paid to her record with Hewlett-Packard. As of now, it appears she has taken on as her role as a GOP candidate the job of taking on Hillary Clinton and the baggage surrounding the front running candidate for the Democratic nomination in 2016.
