Lisa Rinna never fails to amuse.
The former Melrose Place star and recent Days of Our Lives returnee has done a spot for Depends new “Silhouette For Women” brand of incontinence products.
In the ad, Rinna and her husband, Harry Hamlin walk down a red carpet and speak to a fake reporter holding a box of Depend diapers. Lisa, 48, is filmed wearing a skintight black dress on the red carpet, but, surprise, she’s also wearing Depend’s new Silhouette for Women line underneath that dress.
“I am wearing an evening gown, for God’s sake!” Rinna exclaims in the commercial.
Although she doesn’t normally wear adult diapers herself, Lisa explains, “I am a champion for positive self image for women.” And she’s doing it all for a good cause! Depend pledged to donate $250,000 to the charity Dress for Success if Lisa agreed to try on their sleek new “undies.”
Dress for Success is a not-for-profit organization that works to provide women the professional attire and career support they need to find jobs.
After explaining the charity behind the Depend ad, Harry Hamlin gets in on the action, performing his own “touch test” by running a finger down his wife’s backside to prove their discreteness.
“Check out the boo-tay!” says Rinna, as she goes on to say how Depend Silhouette is perfect for women with incontinence issues who want to feel “confident” and “fashionable.”
In the past, Depend ads have characterized adult incontinence by showing gardening or golfing.
“It was all very mild, targeted to a certain demographic,” says Rinna. “[Depend Silhouette] flips it on its head.”
The Depend website also quoted the actress as saying:
“While the whole concept of adult diapers might provide giggles to the young’ens, it’s no laughing matter and luckily, these panties… are definitely NOT our grandmother’s diapers! Harry says soon they’ll have rhinestones.”
