Linda Hardan has been accused of sexually assaulting a student in a New Jersey school where she worked as a substitute teacher. According to the Canada Journal , Hardan is facing charges of sexual assault of a minor , as well as a third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor charge after Passaic County Prosecutors alleged that she sent explicit photos of herself to a 16-year-old student.
“We are disappointed to learn that someone who occasionally worked as a substitute at the school engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a student,” said Manchester Regional Superintendent Richard Ney.
Miss Linda Hardan was subbing at Manchester Regional High School, where she herself graduated a few years earlier. After being accused, she was taken to Passaic County Jail where she remains in lieu of $250,000 bail. According to The SpreadIt , the science teacher pleased “not guilty,” and although senior assistant prosecutor Gyselle DaSilva claims that Hardan confessed , her attorney claims that his client is innocent.
“She looks forward to having her day in court. These are allegations by teenage boys. We look forward to hearing the evidence and getting to the truth,” said Hardan’s attorney, Aymen Aboushi.
Linda Hardan was in court on Friday to hear the charges being brought against her.
“Linda Hardan stayed calm, as it was revealed that she was charged with second-degree sexual assault, third-degree endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact. The instructor might be spending up to 20 years in prison if she is convicted on all charges. She may also be forced to register as a sex offender.”
Unfortunately, student-teacher relationships happen more often than you might think. As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Pacelli High School teacher Mary F. Gilles , 28, was arrested last month after it was alleged that she had sexual intercourse with a student at the Catholic school she taught at. Personal emails between Gilles and the 17-year-old student revealed that Gilles may have been pregnant with his child, but that has not been confirmed.
“Gilles admitted that she and the student had been engaging in intercourse at least once a month. Her student claims he always used a condom, so the claims of possible pregnancy may have been “just in case” conversations. The other possibility is that she is carrying his baby after the condom broke,” reports the Inquisitr .
What do you make of these student/teacher relationships?
