Lil Wayne Isn’t Too Sure About ‘Tha Carter V’ Release Date

Lil Wayne knows that Tha Carter V will arrive within the next few months. However, he can’t seem to recall the record’s proper release date.

Good news, fans: Wayne recently revealed that his next solo album is finally finished . That’s pretty big news for the folks who can’t wait to stuff these brand new songs into their stereos. Unfortunately, Weezy isn’t too sure when the record will arrive. Insert plenty of confused head-scratching here.

While Lil Wayne struggled to give a definition answer to the release date question during his conversation with MTV News , at least we know that Tha Carter V is finally ready for mass consumption. A release date would certainly make plenty of people happy, but at this point beggars simply cannot be choosers.

The rapper said of the album’s arrival:

“I’m so not good with that. I think it drops either in September and then we have… ah I can’t tell you the sneak thing. Anyway, yeah, I think it drops in September or August. It might drop before then, in July. [Or] August 25 or something like that?”

This isn’t the only album Lil Wayne has in the works. The Inquisitr previously reported that Weezy wants drop another batch of tunes before the end of the year. At the moment, Wayne intends to release the Da Other Album (aka DOA ) two months after Tha Carter V finally makes its illustrious debut.

Lil Wayne explained:

“This year, not only will I be dropping ‘Tha Carter V,’ but I’m dropping two albums. Be looking forward to two albums, two albums from me because… I been out the game for a second. I went to work on ‘Tha Carter V’ and I don’t stop working, so it was either ‘Tha Carter V’ gonna be 93 songs, or we’re gonna have to figure this out. So what we said was, ‘Alright, we’re going to drop two albums this year, then we’re going to probably end up dropping like seven next year.’”

Of course, all of this vague release date chatter is possibly a not-too-elaborate ruse to spring a surprise release on the masses. Beyonce proved that you can have a hit record without any sort of build-up whatsoever. Although Lil Wayne doesn’t have the same mainstream appeal as the songstress, dropping an album without notice will definitely get people talking.

When do you think Lil Wayne will finally drop Tha Carter V ? Do you believe the rapper will unexpectedly spring the record on everyone?
