Japanese Kids Are Licking Each Others Eyeballs

Children in Japan have been licking eyeballs as part of a new trend.

For some time now, people have been wondering why so many Japanese kids are turning up to school wearing eye patches.

At first it was thought to be a weird new fashion trend; however, a Japanese website has finally revealed the truth behind the eye wear.

The new craze is exactly as it sounds — one person holds open their eyelids while another then licks their eyeball.

Considering how many awful health stories you hear about eyeballs, in particular the incident in which a parasite ate away at a woman’s eye , it makes you wonder why kids are enjoying this craze.

As unbelievable as it may sound, there are first hand witnesses to this kind of behaviour.

A teacher, only known as Mr. Y to online sources, recalled in detail how confused he was when he saw two pupils licking eyeballs:

“After class one day, I went into the equipment store in the gymnasium to tidy up. The door had been left open, and when I looked inside, a male pupil and a female pupil had their faces close together and were kind of fumbling around. Could it be bullying? I wondered, but when I had a good look, the boy was licking the girl’s eye!”

Mr. Y then went on to say:

“Surprised, I shouted “What are you doing? Stop it at once!” and the two of them were so shocked they jumped apart. The girl burst into tears, and the boy just went bright red and was shaken up. At any rate, to try to calm them down I took them to the janitor’s room and listened to their story.”

This teacher’s school was so surprised at the incident that they conducted a survey to see just how many students were actually getting involved in this activity.

Although the survey only focused on Year 6 pupils, roughly aged 11 – 12 years old, the school found that almost one third of the students were licking each others eyeballs.

With reports of the possibility that human faces could evolve to accommodate large eyes and foreheads, this trend could be around to stay.

The strange nature of this behaviour only seems to get more odd when members of the older generation comment on the trend:

“My boyfriend started licking my eyeballs years ago and I just loved it, […] I’m not with him anymore, but I still like to ask guys to lick my eyeballs. I just love it because it turns me on, like sucking on my toes. It makes me feel all tingly.”

With responses ranging from disturbed and disgusted to aroused, it appears that the trending of licking eyeballs is going to continue.
