Les Miles has been one of the hottest names in college football over the last week following his departure from the LSU Tigers. After starting the season off 2-2 and his stubbornness to fire offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, LSU decided to fire their long-time head coach and move in a different direction.
Now, there are countless options for Miles as one of the highest profile head coaches to hit the open market in recent years.
We have already mentioned the rumors that Miles could take over the Notre Dame head coaching job here at the Inquisitr . It would be a nice fit, although there are plenty of other teams around the nation that could use the type of coaching and recruiting Miles could bring to their program.

Could Miles end up being considered as an option by the Texas Longhorns? Charlie Strong has helped get the Longhorns back on track, but many believe that he has taken them as far as he can. Miles could certainly give the proud Texas football program a boost on the recruiting trail, which could intrigue the Longhorns enough to make them consider a coaching change.
Would firing Strong in order to bring Miles on board be the right move for the Longhorns moving forward?
Gary Laney of Saturday Down South also asked whether Miles could end up coaching Texas . It seems to be a very hot idea at this point in time.

Strong has compiled a 13-15 record heading into Week 4 of the 2016 season with the Longhorns. He has slowly turned aspects of the program around, but the Longhorns still aren’t where they want to be.
Earlier this season, the Longhorns were a contender to burst into the top-10 rankings. Unfortunately, a road loss against the unranked California Golden Bears knocked them down to their current No. 22 ranking. Texas fans were upset with the way their team played California, which is just the latest issue that some have had with Strong.
That being said, there have not been any major reports that Strong could be fired anytime soon.

Miles has been one of the top head coaches in college football throughout the vast majority of his career. He has compiled a 141-55 record throughout his entire career. His 114-34 record in his tenure at LSU is also impressive, to say the very least.
During his time with the Tigers, Miles became extremely well-known for his defensive mindset. LSU has had one of the nation’s more dangerous defenses in quite a few of the seasons that Miles coached. That would be a huge addition to the Texas football program, as their defense has been awful in recent history.
At 62-years-old, Miles still has some time left before retiring. He made it clear that he’d like to continue coaching if the right situation presents itself.

“I don’t golf,” Miles said. “I play no tennis. I enjoy shooting the gun – I don’t necessarily like to point it at animals. I play cards, not very well. But what I have done for probably 12 to 14 hours a day for the last number of years is coach football. So I would have a difficult time not being involved in the game not being a coach.”
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Miles. Texas may not end up having an interest in bringing him on board, but there is a possibility that they will consider the option. If Strong can’t get his team to bounce back in the next couple weeks, hiring Miles could become a legitimate possibility.
Expect to see Miles latch on with a new team at some point in the coming weeks or months. He wants to coach and there will not be a shortage of interest in him from around the nation.
Do you think Les Miles would be a good addition on the sidelines for the Texas Longhorns? Should they consider letting Charlie Strong go in order to bring him in? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below!
