Looks like Glee’s Lea Michele is ready to go out with a bang — vocally speaking. Michele, who plays the lead character Rachel Berry, will sing the hit song from Disney’s Frozen , “Let It Go.”
We’re not too shocked that Disney would hand its most popular song over to Glee . After all, the original was sung by Frozen’s Idina Menzel, who once upon a time had a huge arc playing Rachel Berry’s biological mother on the hit Fox show.
That said, Lea has sung songs by Menzel in the past, including Wicked’s “Defying Gravity.” Throughout most of Lea’s early Broadway career she was often compared to Idina, so it makes sense that she will sing the popular Frozen song on the final season of Glee .
As Entertainment Weekly reported , Lea Michele broke the news via her Twitter, giving her fans a taste of what’s to come this season. Michele posted a photo of herself in a gorgeous gown and captioned it with all too familiar lyrics from the song.

Earlier, The Inquisitr reported a few spoilers about the upcoming abbreviated season of Glee . The song “Let It Go” is appropriate since Michele’s Rachel will have to let New York go when the season begins. After a huge blow with her failed TV show, Rachel is returning back to the fictional hometown of Lima, Ohio.
What is she doing in Lima, you ask? Well, according to TV Line Rachel’s purpose is to resurrect the disbanded Glee club. The club was axed last year due to lack of funds.
Although we don’t know all the details for the last 13 episodes of Glee , we do know that creator Ryan Murphy has come up with a suitable ending. His original plan and the fabric of the show all changed when cast member Cory Monteith passed away of a heroin overdose in July of 2013.
Monteith played Finn Hudson, who took over the Glee club for Mr. Schue, and was the bridge between the New York story lines with the veterans and the new kids at McKinley High. When Monteith died, the show took a hiatus so the cast and crew could grieve, and so the writers could figure out how they would address his death.
Throughout that time, Murphy started to think about a proper ending, and months later, the creator opened up about what it might look like.
“It’s about Rachel and Mr. Schue and it returns them to their origins and their roots, about how they felt about each other when they were younger and everything was idyllic. That ending has to be a reflection and celebration of how far all those characters have evolved.… The main thrust of [the episodes] will be a final farewell to all of our characters that we’ve known since season one.”
Prior to Monteith’s death, Fox executives hinted that Glee would have a season 7, but that’s no longer happening. Series regulars returning for the final season include Darren Criss, Chris Colfer, Jane Lynch, Kevin McHale, Chord Overstreet, Amber Riley, and Matthew Morrison.
