Lady Gaga is ready to take her new album on tour.
The controversial singer recently unveiled several dates for her so-called “artRave: The ARTPOP Ball” tour. Although Citi card members can purchase tickets to the upcoming shows tomorrow (December 4), the general public will have to wait until December 16 to get their hands on the goods. However, a number of pre-sales are also scheduled for fans.
USA Today points out that Lady Gaga’s tour includes stops in cities that were dropped from her Born This Way tour last year. The singer was ultimately forced to cancel the tour early in order to undergo hip surgery. Since these folks missed out on her performance, Mother Monster is hoping to make good.
Before the “ARTPOP Ball” gets underway, Lady Gaga will spend several nights at the famous Roseland Ballroom in March and April of 2014. After hosting numerous events and artists since the early 1900s, the iconic New York City nightclub is officially closing its doors in April. The singer will help bid farewell to the venue with four performances.
Lady Gaga will kick things off in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on May 4. She will follow this show up with stops in Atlanta, Pittsburgh, and Uncasville, Connecticut. Check out a long list of the recently-released tour stops towards the bottom of this article.
The singer is no doubt hoping the upcoming “ARTPOP Ball” will help boost her new album’s lackluster sales. After two weeks on retail shelves, Artpop has reportedly moved a deeply disappointing 305,000 copies in the US. This is definitely a far cry from the one million copies Born This Way sold in its first week of release.
The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that interest in Lady Gaga’s musical antics has dwindled in recent months. The singer’s 90-minute Thanksgiving special Lady Gaga and The Muppets Holiday Spectacular failed to generate decent ratings last week. The network was reportedly hoping for a repeat of her Thanksgiving 2011 special.
“But we understand that (2011) special aired when she was far more popular and people were far more curious about her,” an anonymous ABC executive recently dished.
Of course, all of this could change the moment Lady Gaga sets out on her tour across the country. Check out the “ARTPOP Ball” dates below.
