Lady Gaga, Katy Perry Set To Break First Week Sales Record

Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are set to break first week sales records with their new singles.

Although leaked clips of the song forced the Applause singer to drop the new tune a few days ahead of schedule, all of the buzz could help her move upwards of 400,000 copies in just one week. Analysts expect the single to do all sorts of crazy business in the coming days.

In order to break this sales record, Lady Gaga is going to need a little help from fellow singer Katy Perry . If the artists each sell 400,000 copies of their songs in just seven days, then it will be the first time in history that two new singles have achieved this level of success at the same time.

Since both Applause and Roar have just hit the market, it’s a little hard to tell how popular the songs will be with fans. However, industry insiders firmly believe that both tunes will sell buckets during their first week of release.

Unfortunately, the official numbers won’t be released until August 21 . You’ll just have to chew your fingernails while listening to the songs on repeat until that day rolls around.

Lady Gaga was understandably upset over the weekend after clips of her then-unreleased song Applause started making the rounds online. The singer soon shared her feelings about the situation with her millions of Twitter followers.

“Lord in Heaven why. You just couldn’t wait. This is too much for one Saturday,” she told her fans. After getting that bit of unpleasantness out of the way, she instructed her followers not to listen to the song on their computer speakers.

“Now its not that we hate computer speakers. It’s just they’re not as HQ. We spent time actually making sure it sounds good in s*** speakers,” she wrote.
