Kylie Jenner Snapchat Movie: Teen Trends On Social Media After Slammed For Snapchatting While Driving

If you’re wondering why Kylie Jenner was trending on Twitter on Monday night (February 8), it’s because the reality star decided to make her own Snapchat movie.

Some have called Kylie Jenner’s Snapchat movie hilarious, while others have dubbed it as a “horror story.” The 18-year-old took to her infamous Snapchat account to put her acting and directing skills to test. The one-and-a-half-minute video stars Kylie and Kendall Jenner along with appearances by their friends Hailey Baldwin and Harry Hudson.

It’s everything you’d expect a bunch of silly teens to make. Obviously, Kylie’s Snapchat movie is nothing to take seriously. It’s not like she’s seriously considering a career in film and acting or taking an Oscar home anytime soon.

There are some who are taking the movie seriously. Jen Atkin, the Jenner and Kardashian’s hairstylist and close friend, said that her friend would love to include the movie for the Tribeca Film Festival. She includes a crying and laughing emoji in her texts, which means that it could be just a joke.

The movie opens with Kylie asking Harry if he really likes her. The singer reveals that he likes someone else, and then Hailey storms into the room. The blonde model is upset to see Kylie there.

She exclaims to Harry, “That’s my ex-girlfriend!”

Meanwhile, Kendall bursts into the room in just her T-shirt and underwear and wraps her leg around Harry. The girls found out that it was Harry who was playing them all and decide to slap him, tie him up, and lock him in the closet. He is later discovered by Kylie’s assistants.

Then the movie ends with Hudson waking up surrounded by the three gorgeous gals, and realizing it was a nightmare.

This comes days after Kylie Jenner has been slammed yet again for Snapchatting while driving . It’s apparent that she’s obsessed with the social media app, but should she really putting herself and others in danger? Whenever Kylie posts videos and photos of herself on her phone Snapchatting while driving throughout the busy roads of California, it hardly goes unnoticed by the media or her fans.

A writer at Buzzfeed shared several moments of Jenner Snapchatting pictures and videos while driving. Those moments have also been captured on the Instagram account devoted to Jenner’s Snapchat videos, Kylizzlesnapchats . The writer then concluded that those moments could have ended with someone being injured or even worse.

The Buzzfeed article noted that Kylie’s speedometer is shown in one of the videos. It reads close to 30 mph in the Snapchat video here. If someone was hit at that speed, the likeliness of them being killed is close to 40 percent, according to the report.

California’s DMV website reads, “If you are 18 years old or younger, you cannot text-message while driving with any cell phone OR hands-free device.”

If you are caught using a phone while driving, you will have to pay a $20 ticket. If you get caught several more times, you will have to pay $50 for each additional ticket you receive. Even though texting while driving is a major no-no in the state, there are no laws in place for looking at your phone while waiting in traffic. While Jenner isn’t technically breaking the law, that doesn’t mean that what she’s doing is safe.

In an email to the Huffington Post , LAPD Officer Tony Im explained the dangers of using a phone while driving.

“It is extremely dangerous to Snapchat and drive. In fact it is dangerous to do anything that will distract you while a person is driving a vehicle. You can get a ticket for Snapchatting while driving because your driving speed will be affected and cause you to drive unsafely.”

Kylie Jenner doesn’t need to add distracted driving to her record. She’s already been involved in multiple car accidents and was ticketed for speeding the day after she received her driver’s license. Kendall Jenner has also been spotted texted and driving several times, some of which caused her to swerve on the California freeway. The sisters’ father, Caitlyn Jenner, was involved in a fatal accident in Malibu back in February 2015, so it’s obvious that it’s something that runs in the family.

Kylie has never responded to the constant backlash about her Snapchatting while driving, and it doesn’t look like she’ll change her driving habits anytime soon.
