For heaven’s sake, people, don’t encourage them .
Microsoft has announced that Kinect has sold 10 million units since launching last November. That means one in five Xbox 360 owners have bought Kinect, a figure that has put the device in the Guinness Book of World Records.
According to the record book publisher, the peripheral is the fastest-selling consumer electronics device ever . An average of 133,333 units have been sold per day in its first 60 days on sale (November 4th, 2010 to January 3rd, 2011).
To confirm, then: the future of gaming really is standing in front of your TV while you flail and flap like a berk to steer an on-screen dinghy . That’s great. JUST GREAT.
