Kim Kardashian giving marriage advice may seem a bit like Tiger Woods giving fidelity advice or Donald Trump talking to you about your hair, but the famous for being famous celeb has dished on her post-split from what’s his face, and she has some advice for people who might want to stay married for longer than it takes to get to the information window at the DMV.
Kim Kardashian ‘s marriage advice is given, of course, as the reality TV star circumnavigates California divorce courts and attempts to dissolve her union from Kris Humphries.
While Kim is not yet an unmarried woman and her marital bliss lasted a scant 72 days, she’s already knocked up and expecting a summer baby with paramour Kanye West. And despite that spotty track record, Kardashian has some sage advice for all the aspiring brides of the world — no, not how to make hundreds of thousands of dollars for each day of your short-lived relationship, but on staying together and making smart choices.
One might argue that a baby is certainly a commitment, and Kim Kardashian is already violating her words of wisdom by peeing on a stick before the ink is even applied to, not to mention drying, on her divorce papers. But advise she shall, and the star says :
“I saw fast marriages like Khloe and Lamar’s and that was what seemed to work … [Now] I say give it a good six months before you commit. Feelings change, even if it seems so lustful.”
Which, we might point out to Kim Kardashian, means it’s probably a good idea to know someone for more than a year before you go off making babies with them. Just saying.
In a not so stunning turn of events, Kardashian admits she thought marriage came before babies until she did it differently, and she judged sis Khloe for her relationship with Scott Disick.
Kim adds:
“Sometimes you’re just not ready … A person could have it all, and you’re not ready for it all. But this is where I probably always should have been … [marriage] is something I know that we both want in our future, but I don’t have this sense of urgency about it. I have this best friend who understands me and helps me through all my tough experiences, and vice versa, you know? It just feels like this is it for me.”
Far be it from us to criticize Kim Kardashian’s marriage advice, but it seems like if you have a “sense of urgency” to hold off on, maybe bringing a whole human person into the world is a more serious decision than just a quickie wedding.
