Kevin Spacey has made waves in the news recently with the astounding accusations by actor Anthony Rapp and news anchor Heather Unruh. The claims that he sexually abused a family member of Unruh and attempted to sexually assault then 14-year-old Anthony Rapp led to Spacey making a statement. He claims he doesn’t recall the incident with Rapp and chalks it up to “inappropriate drunken behavior.” Not unlike the so-called apology from Jeffrey Katzenberg for a statement he claims to not to have said that was quoted in a magazine over 20 years ago, Spacey dodges a real apology by claiming not to recall the incident.
The house of cards Kevin Spacey has built (as well as the show of the same name he starred in) has begun to buckle under stress. The original claims may be just the beginning however, as limousine driver and professional Rod Stewart impersonator, Randy Fowler has opened up to the press. Randy Fowler is Kevin Spacey’s brother and claims he was not surprised at the claims of sexual abuse by his actor brother. In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail , he claims that their father, Geoffrey Fowler was a member of the American Nazi party. Fowler goes on to relate how their father shaved his mustache in order to resemble Hitler. He was a violent and abusive man who repeatedly physically and sexually abused Randy according to the account. His horrific behavior earned him the nickname “The Creature” within the family.
According to Randy Fowler, acting was an escape for his acclaimed brother.
“He was so determined to try to avoid the whippings that he just minded his Ps and Qs until there was nothing inside. He had no feelings.” The Daily Mail story has since been picked up by the Independent , Australia’s The Age and several other venues around the world as well as in the US.
Since the rumblings in the press Spacey has made a statement admitting he needs to “address other things” in his life. For many, however, the attempt to turn the hour of his accusation into a “coming out” party has been met with some resistance. BBC issued a story yesterday pondering why people were so angry with Kevin Spacey for “coming out.” For most of the people who are upset, it has more to do with the serious allegations of assaulting minors, rather than his choice of sexual preference. The editor of Gay Times , Josh Rivers, made a statement regarding the timing and seeming deflection of Spacey’s outing.

Nope to Kevin Spacey’s statement. Nope. There’s no amount of drunk or closeted that excuses or explains away assaulting a 14-year-old child.

“He doesn’t get a pass just because he’s gay,” Josh Rivers explained. “Alleged predatory behaviour is bad behaviour regardless of your sexuality.”
