With the NBA lockout in full swing , All-Star forward Kevin Durant took his skills to Harlem’s Rucker Park earlier this week to compete in the Entertainer’s Basketball Classic tournament.
In addition to making his debut at “streetball’s most famous arena,” the former Texas great put on a show for those in attendance, scoring 66 points on an array of dunks and well beyond NBA range three pointers.
Durant, who walked away just a few buckets shy of Joe Hammond’s 74-point court record, amazingly scored almost half of his 66 during a 4th quarter explosion, which was highlighted by him hitting 5 straight threes at one point.
After that fifth straight long ball, the standing room only crowd rushed the court mobbing the lanky 22-year-old for his stellar performance.
Following the game, Durant hopped on Twitter to share his feelings on the event:
“No lie, jus had one of the best times of my life at Rucker park..wow! I love NY…Harlem waddup.”

Kevin finished the night going 9-for-11 from behind the arc to help lead DC Power to a 99-93 win over the Sean Bell All-Stars.
Following the epic hoop battle, DC Power guard Randy “White Chocolate” Gill told the New York Post:
“Some nights are very special. This is going down as one of those nights.”
