Kendra Wilkinson has recently been shocking her fans with hitherto unknown secrets. And now Kendra has another previously never-told secret from her past that she’s sharing on Kendra On Top . Wilkinson is revealing that she struggled with depression so severe that she attempted suicide through methods include slitting her wrists and overdosing on drugs, reported People .
“When I was a teenager, I battled some severe depression. I attempted suicide a couple times. I went to a mental institution… drugs, overdosing, slitting wrists, all that stuff,” shared Kendra.
Wilkinson is talking with her therapist Dr. Monica Shahbaznia when she makes these remarks on her show. The discussion will air on an upcoming episode of Kendra On Top .
The therapist’s response to her 30-year-old client is to emphasize that the role of a primary caregiver is to protect and safeguard. Moreover, Shahbaznia suggests to Kendra that how a primary caregiver acts, including whether or not that individual succeeds in making a child or young person feel safe and protected, is linked to future relationships.
“Those people have a lot to do with how we bond with somebody else,” the therapist told Kendra.
Wilkinson disclosed that when she was growing up, she lacked support and love. It was that lack that may have resulted in her teenage attempts to commit suicide and subsequent stay in a mental health institution.
“I was left on my own…I was a young f—— girl. All I wanted was for my mom to say, ‘I love you, and I’m here for you.’ I never got that.”
Kendra revealed that her mother emotionally abused her, terming her sadistic.
“I feel like I’m being raped every minute with my mom,” said Wilkinson.
Kendra has two children of her own, and Wilkinson also talked about her problems with intimate relations with Hank Baskett , her husband, reported E News .
“I thought we were great at sex,” confessed Kendra.
But Wilkinson’s husband emphasized what he sees as the key, which is commitment.
Hugh Hefner’s former girlfriend, who lived in the Playboy Mansion before becoming a wife and mom to Hank, also confessed that she tends to use comedy to discuss sex rather than be candid about intimacy. When it comes to public displays of affection, Kendra said that they rarely happen when she’s with Hank. Is that due to the emotional abuse from her mom or Hank’s reported cheating on Wilkinson with a transsexual?
“It’s so easy to talk about sex,” mused Kendra. “There’s a certain humor to it. But intimacy is a little bit touchier, it’s a little bit more emotional. It’s deeper, it involves your heart.”
Wilkinson has revealed her drug use before and also that she cut herself, reported Yahoo . In 2010, Kendra appeared in an E! True Hollywood Story show in which she revealed that she used cocaine at age 13.
Once she began her drug days, Wilkinson soon became a daily user and also cut herself. At 15, Kendra swallowed about six pills, and her mom at that point decided it was time for a psychiatric facility.
“It was crazy in that place,” recalled Wilkinson. “We didn’t see daylight. We weren’t allowed outside. It was basically a jail, but it was a hospital.”
Kendra then left home and subsequently ended up in Los Angeles. It was there that she and Hugh Hefner began their long history together.
But part of the aftermath of that history with Hefner and the Playboy Mansion is what has erupted into a feud with Holly Madison, her co-star from the show Girls Next Door.
As the Inquisitr reported, Wilkinson also makes it clear that Holly and she have very different versions of what happened during their years with Hugh Hefner on her show.
The feud resulted from Kendra’s outrage over Holly’s tell-all, entitled Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny.
Wilkinson is on Team Hefner when it comes to slamming Holly’s memories of life at the Playboy mansion. Among Madison’s accusations about what happened are drugs, booze, group sex, and emotional abuse. It was so bad, according to the 35-year-old former Bunny, that she even considered suicide.
But Kendra argues that Hefner is so nice that he won’t even attack Holly.
“I’m not going to let this b—- get away with something like that,” said Wilkinson.
