Could Kim Kardashian be quitting Keeping Up with the Kardashians ?
In the wake of her scary robbery in Paris on October 2, which reportedly saw Kim robbed at gunpoint for more than $10 million worth of jewelry, new reports are claiming that Kardashian may be considering pulling the plug on the family’s E! reality show for good.
According to claims made by Life & Style , Kim still isn’t doing well following the scary attack that saw her tied up, gagged, and locked in a bathroom and has supposedly told mom and manager Kris Jenner that she no longer wants to be a part of the Kardashian family reality show over fears for her safety.
An insider claimed that Kardashian was “hysterical” following the robbery and “told her mom Kris Jenner that she is quitting the show” for fears that having her whereabouts publicized at all times could put her and her two children, North and Saint West, in even more danger.
“Kim says the show is putting her in danger because her every move is documented by their cameras,” a Kardashian source revealed amid the quitting rumors, adding that her robbery in Paris made Kardashian realize that “everyone doesn’t need to know everything” about her glamorous life after putting everything on display on the reality show since it premiered in 2007.
The Kardashian clan are yet to speak out regarding the rumors that Kim has allegedly made it clear that she no longer wants to be a part of and could be quitting the E! show, though Life & Style claimed that Kim’s decision has thrown the family into “total chaos.”
“Without Kim, there is no show period,” the magazine’s Kardashian source revealed. “It would cost the family over $75 million.”
Notably, if Kim really does decide that she’s no longer a part of Keeping Up with the Kardashians , Kardashian will more than likely have to fork over multiple million dollars to E!, as TMZ confirmed that the network signed an $80 million contract with the Kardashian clan to film three more seasons of the show in 2015.
The site claimed last year that E! got Kim and family to sign on the dotted line to film three more seasons, of which two are left to film after the Kardashians recently wrapped Season 12, and reported that the network gave the Kardashian family the option for a fourth season to be added to the contract should the show still be going strong during Season 14.
Reports suggesting that there’s a chance Kim may never return to Keeping Up with the Kardashians comes just days after The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the series had been put on hold , while a spokesperson for E! revealed that no date had been set as to when production will pick up again following Kim’s robbery.
“Kim’s well-being is our core focus right now,” an E! representative confirmed to the site of halting production on Keeping Up with the Kardashians on October 6. “No decision has been made as to when production will resume.”
The spokesperson did not comment on reports suggesting Kim is considering quitting reality TV for good and Kardashian is still yet to officially speak out about her robbery in the days that have followed her attack, though rumors have been swirling for months that Kim’s husband Kanye West supposedly wants her her to pull the plug on Keeping Up with the Kardashians .
Hollywood Life alleged back in August that West wants Kim to move on to “bigger things” and turn off the cameras to allow their two children to have a little more privacy.
“It’s understandable that he would want her to remove herself from the public eye a little bit,” the site said amid reports that Kanye was done with the constant presence of Keeping Up with the Kardashians cameras.
“Kanye isn’t a fan of cameras consistently watching him and his family’s every move, and he might want his kids to have a more normal childhood — if that’s even possible,” added a Kardashian source.
