Kate Middleton has been in the news headlines a lot recently due to the fact she has been forced to cancel numerous royal public engagements because of acute morning sickness she has been suffering during her pregnancy.

The last time the Duchess of Cambridge was spotted in public was over five weeks ago, just before the exciting news of her second pregnancy broke. Since then, she has been holed up at the palace under the watchful eye of the royal doctors, who have done what they can to relieve her condition.

Kate Middleton suffered so badly from morning sickness that she had to cancel some key engagements, including her own debut solo tour to Malta as well as numerous other public appearances.

The Duchess was less than pleased that she couldn’t attend brother-in-law Prince Harry’s Invictus Games kickoff event, and she was also not happy to have to cancel the launch of The Art Room’s ninth center opening in the U.K.

Kate was so upset in fact that she wrote a personal letter of apology to the Art Room, saying, “I am truly sorry that I cannot be with you all today as you celebrate this milestone. As patron of The Art Room, I feel great pride to see the work that the charity is doing. Vulnerable children flourish in the safe havens that The Art Room provides; this highlights just how important it is to support children at a time when they most need help and support.”

The good news, according to palace, is that Kate Middleton is on the mend, and will be attending her first public appearance in a while, when she heads out with Prince William by her side to greet the President of Singapore, Tony Tam , on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II at the Royal Garden Hotel on October 21.

There’s no question that Kate must be getting over her morning sickness, which usually only affects pregnant women during their first trimester, as there’s no way the palace would let her attend such an event if she wasn’t in tip-top condition.

Following the “meet and greet,” Kate and William will reportedly be traveling to the Horse Guards Parade to attend Tan’s ceremonial welcome.
