Queen Elizabeth II has given her grandson Prince William and his fiance Kate Middleton an early wedding present, new titles to match their new matrimony.

The Queen Mother has named Kate Middleton “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge” while Prince William will be called “His Royal Highness The Duke Of Cambridge.”

The titles will become official once the couple weds in just a few short hours.

Prince William has actually received three titles:

Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus.

We’ll continue to call him “Prince William” when reporting in the future, it’s far less of a mouthful than his new given title.
