Kanye West, a man with a history of running his mouth, has apparently met his match.
The rapper really doesn’t seem to care who he irritates these days. If the guy doesn’t like something, then he’s going to tell someone about it. According to E! Online , West decided to take a cheap shot at online shoe retailer Zappos during a recent podcast with American Psycho scribe Bret Easton Ellis.
“I got into this giant argument with the head of Zappos that he’s trying to tell me what I need to focus on. Meanwhile, he sells all this s*** product to everybody, his whole thing is based off of selling s*** product,” Kanye West explained during the chat.
Instead of sitting idly by while some self-important rapper makes horrible remarks about his company, Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh fired back with a bit of humor. Instead of attacking Kanye West directly, he issued a tweet that showcased the retailer’s new product. It’s actually pretty funny.
“It’s true,” Hsieh wrote on Twitter .
The post came with a link to the company’s latest product: A $100,000 toilet with a stylish yellow plunger . Although this is humorous in and of itself, the product’s description is what takes the cake.
“Interested in buying s*** product? You’ve come to the right place! Here at Zappos.com, we happily sell sh-t products to everybody! This is the throne, everyone has been watching. Whether you’re #1 or #2, your clique will show no mercy, even in Paris,” the official description humorously explains to customers.
The website continues, “Requires lots of ‘focus’ for most productive use. Considered a “safety zone” when in arguments. Makes giant arguments seem much smaller.”
Zappos warns buyers to keep the company’s “s*** product” away from fans. The company also suggests avoiding storms. The description goes on to state that the toilet is perfect for the “man who has everything,” a line that contains a link to the E! Online about Kanye West.
Even some of the customers are getting in on the joke. Here’s what one “disgruntled buyer” had to say about the company’s latest “s*** product”:
“So I’m not sure if the sizing chart was inaccurate or what, but this didn’t fit on my foot well AT ALL, plus now I’m covered in blue water that my neighbor said looks and smells like ‘1000 Flushes.’ I’ve never heard of that shoemaker, and I didn’t pay top dollar for no-name knockoff merchandise, Zappos. Needless to say, this will be returned as soon as I figure out how to get both feet out of it. BUYER BEWARE.”
What do you think about Zappos’ response to Kanye West’s recent comments?
