The ongoing feud between Taylor Swift and Kanye West has been hailed as the celebrity feud of not only the year, but the decade. At the heart of that feud has been claims by Taylor Swift that certain lyrics in “Famous” by Kanye West weren’t approved by her. That argument has been at the forefront of Swift’s case against her ex-friend, Kanye, throughout their ongoing feud. However, West’s partner, Kim Kardashian, has torn Swift’s entire argument apart, releasing a Snapchat video of a call between her husband and Swift.
According to the Metro , Kim Kardashian recently released a Snapchat clip of a phone call between Taylor Swift and Kanye West. In that call, Swift appears to give approval for West to use her name in the lyrics of his “Famous” track. However, Taylor Swift was quick to hit back, pointing out that the phone call doesn’t prove she was aware Kanye West would refer to her as “that bitch” in the lyrics, which as many followers of the story have pointed out, wasn’t heard on the video released by Kim Kardashian.
Kanye West and Taylor Swift’s feud first came about in February when “Famous” was released. Swift initially released a statement condemning the track’s release and the references to her in the lyrics of the track. Predictably, Kanye West responded by tweeting that Swift had approved the lyrics prior to release.
According to Buzzfeed , the whole situation became incredibly messy during Taylor Swift’s Grammy acceptance speech later that month. Whilst Swift’s speech didn’t directly reference Kanye West or the track, it was widely assumed that her comments were targeted at the rapper. In her speech, Swift spoke about the negative comments her and other leading women receive every day, telling her fans that such comments shouldn’t get in the way of achieving what they want to achieve in life.

Since the beginning of the feud, fans have been split between Kanye West and Taylor Swift, finding it increasingly difficult to decide who’s side to take in the argument. However, many have now flocked to the side of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian following the video’s release, with Taylor Swift condemned on Twitter for her lies.
In the recording, Swift is heard giving her approval over the lyrics, saying “Yeah, I mean I don’t think anybody would listen to that and be like oh that’s a real diss, like she must be crying. You’ve gotta tell the story the way that it happened to you and the way that you experienced it. Like you honestly didn’t know who I was before that. It doesn’t matter if I sold 7 million of that album before you didn’t that, which is what happened. You didn’t know who I was before that it’s fine.”

As aforementioned, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s side of the argument has attracted a fair deal of support since the video was released, with “#KimExposedTaylorParty” now trending on Twitter, forcing Taylor Swift to react to the video’s release. Taking to social media to defend herself, Swift rightfully points out that she didn’t give approval for Kanye West to refer to her as “that bitch” in his music video, claiming that she’d never heard the track when this phone call was recorded.
Kim Kardashian has only added more fuel to a feud that shows no sign of slowing down. However, the recently released phone call only seems to be helping Kanye West’s side of the argument, leaving Taylor Swift with a lot of work to do in order to win back fans following the feud.
