A newly leaked song from Kanye West’s upcoming album, Yeezus , features the father-to-be rapping about abortion and child support, less than a month before Kim Kardashian is due to give birth to the couple’s first child.

The song “Blood on the Leaves,” which opens with a sample of Nina Simone’s “Strange Fruit,” touches on a number of different subjects, but the majority of the track revolves around relationships. West talks about how everyone wants something out of him, only to turn around and speak ill of him behind his back.

But it’s in the third verse that the lyrics get a bit troubling , as ‘Ye starts rapping about a mistress who gets pregnant, and then laments all of the things people have to give up once they become parents.

“Now you sittin’ courtside, wifey on the other side/Gotta keep ’em separated, I call that apartheid/Then she said she pregnant ain’t it/That’s the night your heart died/Then you gotta go and tell your girl and report that/Main reason cause your pastor said you can’t abort that,” West raps.

The song then ends with with, “On and on that alimony/ Yeah, yeah she got you homey/’Til death but do you part/Unholy matrimony.”

While there’s nothing in the song that indicated that West is talking about his own relationship, the timing is sure to give some people pause. Add to that the fact that he has rarely been seen with Kardashian since her pregnancy was announced, and it might seem like West isn’t quite ready to be a father yet. Of course, the song could just be about relationships in general and have no personal significance whatsoever.

You can listen to “Blood on the Leaves” below.

What do you think of “Blood on the Leaves”? Do you think it’s inappropriate for Kanye West to talk about abortion when he is expecting his first child?
