Kansas City Royals Outfielder Jeff Francoeur Delivers Pizza To Fans

Last year Kansas City Royals’ right field Jeff Francoeur wrapped a $100 bill around a ball and threw it into the bleachers, instructing fans in the outfield spot to “buy bacon or beer” on that day the annual “Bacon Tuesday” was created.

In celebration of the second annual “Bacon Tuesday” this year Francoeur decided to spread the wealth even further, having pizza delivered to section 149 where a group of animated Oakland Athletics fans cheers his name and changing “Thank you, Jeff!” as he tips his cap and waved to the thankful fans.

Some fans in the crowd even wore shirts that said “Bacon Tuesday” while a large paper bacon sign hung from the railing, a strange honor but a tribute none-the-less for a man who wants to have fun with his career.

Before the game and the 20 pizzas he had delivered to the outfield section Jeff Francoeur said:

“Baseball is fun. We can take it too serious sometimes. This is something more than just baseball. That right-field section are here every game, they cheer for every (A’s player). They are diehards. I just enjoy them out there. It’s a lot of fun. You don’t get to build relationships like that every day.”

We do have some bad news for Oakland A’s fans, this is the Kansas City Royals’ only trip to Oakland this year which means another bacon tuesday and whatever trick Jeff Francoeur has up his sleeve next will have to wait until next year or if all falls into place the playoffs.
