Justin Bieber’s Believe movie-documentary will screen exclusively in the UK at Vue Cinemas from December 26.
Fans of the 19-year-old had been encouraged by the team at Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun’s company, SB Projects, to lobby the UK cinema chain to show there was sufficient demand for the screenings.
And British Beliebers have done exactly that.
Fans sent out over 5,000 Twitter requests and 2,000 emails, and have now successfully secured a release date for the Jon M. Chu-directed movie in the UK.
Believe will shown in Vue cinemas across Britain for one week only from December 26.
Vue Entertainment CEO Tim Richards released a statement. It reads:
“We were overwhelmed with the sheer number of Justin Bieber fans up and down the country wanting to see the film, and so we are thrilled to be able to satisfy the demand as the only cinema in the country to show ‘Believe’. It also goes to show how powerful social media can really be not to mention the power of the Beliebers.”
Believe is the second Bieber-feature helmed by Chu, and follows 2011’s smash Never Say Neve r which went on to gross over $98 million worldwide.
The movie will mix footage from Justin’s Believe world tour, interviews with the “Heartbreaker” star, Braun, mentor Usher, mother Pattie Mallette, and various musicians and friends.
In a recent joint with The Hollywood Reporter , Braun affirmed “There is no fluff,” to describe Team Bieber’s intention to address the months of controversy that have trailed the Canadian star for the better part of a year.
Justin in currently in Australia with just three shows left before his tour wraps on December 8.
In the most recent Believe movie teaser , Justin revealed the best part of his live concerts for him is the acoustic segment.
“My favorite part is literally just the intimate moments with the fans when I’m on that crane and I’m in the crowd with them and I can see each one of their faces,” Bieber said.
The heartthrob added, “They’re jumping up and down screaming. There’s nothing like that feeling. I have goosebumps right now thinking about it, for real.”
