Justin Bieber has been subpoenaed to testify in a wrongful dismissal lawsuit filed against him by his former housekeeper.
Tatiana Voziouk claims she began working as a maid at Bieber’s Calabasas, Calif., mansion in August, 2012, and says she was let go without reason in the summer of 2013.
The 47-year-old filed a suit last year and Bieber has now been summoned to appear in court this Tuesday, March 11.
Voziouk’s Beverley Hills attorney, Laurence Ring, tells the New York Daily News ,
“My client was extremely diligent, loyal and hardworking, making sure that the house was running as efficiently as possible. No reason was given to my client for her termination.”
Ring made similar claims in February after the outlet reported Bieber was considering legal action against the former maid – who is also described as a housekeeper in some reports – for her “tell all” interview to a British newspaper.
Speaking to the Sunday People tabloid in January 2014, Tatiana Voziouk said of Bieber,
“The drugs and hangers-on are turning Justin into a zombie,” adding that she thought the teen star would die in unnatural circumstances like the late Michael Jackson.
She is believed to have been paid a five-figure sum for her story which painted a stark and alleged picture of a pop star surrounded by drugs while unaware of his financial affairs or the opportunists in his circle.
New York Daily News’ Confidenti@l reported Bieber was completely outraged by the former housekeeper’s breach of confidence, and allegedly instructed his California attorney Howard Weitzman to explore grounds for a lawsuit.
“This woman embellished a number of things in an effort to profiteer from Justin,” a source previously told Confidenti@l .
“She is in breach of her non-disclosure agreement and has sold confidential information so there is a case against her.” the insider added.
Voziouk maintains she saw Bieber and his pals drink the codeine-promethazine-soda street narcotic known as sizzurp. She also claims she witnessed marijuana being delivered to the singer’s Calabasas, California, mansion by a legal drug company that provides their supplies based on medicinal needs.
At the time, Ring told Confidenti@l his client was not worried about being sued and revealed Voziuk’s own lawsuit was in the works.
“Tatiana is not fearful of any litigation because she was wrongfully terminated and she has claims against Justin Bieber including unpaid overtime and employment benefits,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bieber’s legal woes continue.
Last Thursday he reportedly stormed out of a videotaped deposition over a civil assault case filed by a Miami photographer, who claims Bieber ordered his bodyguards to confront him and was then assaulted last June.
Justin may also be facing a trial over a DUI and related charges arising from his arrest on January 23.
The 20-year-old is also in the frame for allegedly egging his estranged neighbor’s house in Calabasas, Los Angeles, and is awaiting a decision from the Los Angeles District Attorney as to whether he will be charged.
In addition, the embattled Canadian has been charged with assault in Toronto, Canada, over an alleged assault of a limousine driver last year.
A court hearing in the matter begins today. Bieber may or may not be required to attend.
His California lawyer, Howard Weitzman previously said Bieber was innocent of the alleged assault .
