Justin Bieber is in Singapore to kick off the last leg of his Believe world tour closing the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix. And with new music announced for October, big name producers have flown out to Asia as album prep continues.
Referred to as “music journals” by the teen singer and his manager Scooter Braun, the 19-year-old’s fifth studio album will include a mix of songs written on and off tour as per Braun.
Speculation over Bieber’s new music has accelerated in recent weeks after the teen singer posted Instagram photos of sessions with Pharrell Williams, Future, Tyler The Creator, and reports of co-writes with Wiz Khalifa, and R.Kelly.
On Sunday, the 19-year-old took to Twitter posting messages announcing his arrival in Singapore and a possible a reveal of his new album title.
Bieber tweeted “”#BELIEVE TOUR is back in Asia and #Journals are coming. Get ready.”
Besides guest raps on Asher Roth’s “Actin’ Up,” Maejor Ali’s “Lolly”, and the slow-jam “Wait For A Minute,” to date the only taster of the singer’s upcoming album has been a few seconds of “Heartbreaker” in Instagram videos and a commercial for his latest fragrance, The Key.
Announced back in June, “Heartbreaker” is expected to be the lead single on Bieber’s new record.
According to Yours Truly star Ariana Grande — who heard the full song touring with the Canadian as support — fans can anticipate something special.
“It’s funny, everybody thinks we spent so much time together because we were touring, but really, I think I saw him once, and it was for about five minutes. He played me ‘Heartbreaker,’ it was amazing, and then I left. It’s like ‘hey, great job, bye,’” the petite brunette told J-14 .
The former Billboard 200 album chart queen added:
“I did get to hear some of his new music, and it’s amazing. I think his fans are going to be so pleased. It’s next level, it’s amazing, and it sounds great.”
Via Beats By Dre Twitter: “Justin Bieber’s recording in Bali right now! (sic),” posted September 18.
And it seems the songstress isn’t the only excited. Grammy Award winning R&B producer Rodney Jerkins (Brandy,Michael Jackson, Brandy, Britney Spears to name a few), joined Bieber in Bali on September 19 .
Jerkins later uploaded an Instagram video snippet of a listening session with Justin and producer Jason “Poo Bear” Boyd.
It was captioned : “Fun On The Ocean????? Nope! Relaxing????? Nope! Vacation????? Nope! We’re out here working! #TEAMJB (sic).”
Echoing Grande, Boyd has also been beating the drum for Bieber’s new music. Posting two tweets containing the speculated album title, he enthused:
Watch out for JB’s journals, the greatest work I’ve ever been apart of!!! If you love Confessions, prepare… http://t.co/D7jJwUJK58
