Justin Bieber has been teasing his comeback to his music career for some time, while on a scheduled break during 2014.
Seemingly aware of Beliebers’ restlessness, as their most difficult year as fans draws to a close, the singer posted a pic of himself on Instagram yesterday, with a caption reassuring the faithful the wait is nearly over.
At press time, nearly 1 million users on the photo-sharing site have “Liked” the post.
“My break is for a reason. U will soon see ) thank u for your patience,” Justin wrote.
In recent weeks, the Biebs has shared his thoughts about returning to the music spotlight, explaining his time away was necessary and planned.
“You wanna have an actual break. I wanted to have a moment where people didn’t see me for a while, and then I can come back stronger,” the singer told Hustle TV at a West Coast Customs event earlier this month.
“I’m also growing up,” Justin continued. “There’s a lot of things that I’m going through and finding myself as a man. So, it’s going to be a great, next chapter for me.”
This year wasn’t a complete new music famine. Fans were briefly sated by free releases such as “We Were Born For This,” “Looking For You, ft. Migos,” features on Maejor Ali’s “Lolly” and the “All About That Bass” remix.
In addition, his duet with Cody Simpson, “Home To Mama,” dropped ahead of their album. The Canadian also teased 11 snippets of unheard music in July.
After over a year of headlines, some deserved and some definitely not , infamous moments including — “When not to crack eggs,” and, “Dude, that may be your rental but maybe we should walk,” and some outstanding charitable efforts — the close of 2014 sees Bieber in evidently healthier and seemingly focused form.
Following an overwrought split from former girlfriend, Selena Gomez , in October, the star reportedly received guidance from longtime friends, pastor Carl Lentz from Hillsong NYC Church, and pastor Judah Smith of Seattle’s The City Church. The singer has reportedly also stopped using marijuana .
While 2015 will likely be uphill in many respects for Bieber, according to Business Insider it isn’t insurmountable. The publication included Justin Bieber (the brand) as one of “The 7 Biggest Comeback Brands of 2015.”
Jeetendr Sehdev, a celebrity branding expert and professor at the University of Southern California, notes the scandals, but argues the singer’s relatively lower profile this year and passionate fan base has the power to fuel his comeback .
“There is only one Bieber , and his brand not only remains differentiated from a plethora of other pop stars but also is now more humanized than ever before,” Sehdev says. “Justin’s authentic persona is rewarded with Beliebers that are nearly three times as loyal as other fan followings.”

Not surprisingly; the Biebs, his manager, Scooter Braun, and thousands of fans have now retweeted the article.
The rallying has begun.
