Update: Gomez’s representative Jill Fritzo has now told Mail Online , the text exchange is “Not real.”
Justin Bieber will doubtless remember Tuesday, January 14 for two main reasons.
Firstly, it saw an egging-related police raid storm his Calabasas, California house to seize home security surveillance material and his iPhone. Second, it was the day the floodgates officially opened and his version of Michael Jackson’s 1993 began.
Presently in Aspen, Colorado, on a snowboarding break with pals, the 19-year-old appears to have responded in timely manner to the tabloid tornado besetting him, with a timely tweet. One Monday, he observed Martin Luther King Jr. Day by tweeting a quote from the slain civil rights hero .
It read: “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
On Monday, TMZ followed up its previous reports alleging Bieber has a hidden addiction to “sizzurp” and is being urged to enter rehab, with another claiming police found his house “littered with drugs and drug paraphernalia” during the raid. Over at Radar Online , the site published a vicious text message exchange claiming it is a verified conversation between Bieber and his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez.
Citing unnamed sources TMZ claims police investigators discovered two cookie jars full of weed, four or five empty codeine bottles, an entire room dedicated to smoking marijuana, and three bongs.
The website also reported police found Styrofoam cups used to consume Sizzurp throughout Bieber’s Calabasas house. Sizzurp, (also called Lean), is a mix of cough syrup, soda and candy. It can cause seizures, Sleep Apnea – when someone stops breathing while they are asleep – even death if it is taken with a too high dose or mixed with alcohol or other drugs.
The site claims the Canadian drinks an expensive version of Sizzurp using Actavis Prometh with Codeine cough syrup which it’s claimed he gets via third party who obtains it in another country. The website also alleges the singer drinks around 12 ounces a day when he’s “at his worst.”
The report adds the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were unable to seize any of the alleged drugs or drug paraphernalia because they were outside the scope of the search warrant, which apparently only gave rights to take surveillance material and evidence related to an egg-throwing incident (January 9) on a Calabasas neighbor’s house of which Bieber is accused.
TMZ aren’t the only outlet claiming Bieber is abusing a mixture of Codeine, prescription pills, alcohol and weed, Radar Online alleges the same. Both outlets state the teen star’s camp is “urging” him to enter rehab.
Notably, E! News reports the Los Angeles Sheriff told them police “did not see any illegal substances” in Bieber’s home, “except for the drugs in Lil Za’s room [a friend of the singer].”
The Sheriff also said, contrary to reports of a littered house, it was “well kept and clean” and “didn’t smell or have an unusual odor.”
But whereas TMZ and Rada r read off the same page regarding drugs claims, they differ widely in their approach to the alleged leak of texts message between the ex-sweethearts.
On January 17, TMZ published a heads-up telling the Internet a former friend of Bieber’s was shopping bogus texts and claiming they were between the “ Baby ” singer and Gomez, along with a fake naked, genitalia shot of the heartthrob. The site even published extracts of the conversations and said one of the texts had said a drug intervention was taking place at 11:30 pm on January 16 — then didn’t.
Despite this, Radar published the alleged Bieber-Gomez texts on Monday and said it had received graphic messages between the two. It added the purported texts were forwarded from a cell phone registered to Gomez’s stepfather, Brian Teefey.
“U r a drug addict. U need help,” reads one message alleged to be from the Spring Breaker actress.
Bieber allegedly replies, “Come on. Don’t tell me you don’t miss this,” and sends a photo of his erect penis.
Gomez allegedly fires back: “Stop it. You need to listen to Scooter [Braun, his manager] and go to rehab. U r sick.”
Further messages allege Bieber calls the Latina actress-singer, a “talentless p***y” after taunting, “Can’t hear you over my cash, babe! You’re only famous cuz of me. You know it. I know it. Everybody knows. Bye.”
Bizarrely, even though the stagey, melodramatic exchange was flag-waved by TMZ Friday, numerous outlets appear to be dead keen on forgetting they were warned this exact hoax was on its way.
Anonymous sources from Bieber’s camp told TMZ the texts are fake ,
While it seems inconceivable the couple who posed for a tender Instagram on January 4 are the same people in today’s text exchange, perhaps the most apt question anyone needs to ask is this:
Does anyone really think TMZ would have turned down a Bieber-Gomez text message and “nude photo” story if there was even a small chance it was genuine?
