Most mainstream media journalists refuse to admit their liberal bias , but give Michael Hastings of the Rolling Stone credit for speaking truth about power.
In an interview on MSNBC, Hastings admitted that most star-struck reporters, including himself, “swoon” in the presence of Barack Obama .
As you might remember, Hastings wrote the controversial article about Afghanistan Gen. Stanley McChrystal that resulted in the general’s resignation. He also had a contentious back-and-forth with an aide to Hillary Clinton about Benghazi.
Hastings has written a book about the 2012 presidential campaign, and he said this about the press corps during an MSNBC interview:
“That’s the presence of Obama, even on the press corps — even on the people who follow him every day — when they’re near him, they lose their minds sometimes. They start behaving in ways that are juvenile, and amateurish, and they swoon .”
Hastings admitted that he couldn’t bring himself to pose tough questions to the president even when Obama was just a US Senator.
As far as juvenile behavior is concerned, Hastings claimed that a Wall Street Journal reporter tried to interview Obama using a sock puppet.
In as speech back in October, Democrat strategist and political consultant Patrick Caddell said he was fed up with the mainstream media bias in favor of the re-election of President Obama. Virtually the entire news media is on the Obama bandwagon, which is not what the First Amendment contemplated, Caddell insisted. “The overwhelming [media] bias has become very real and very dangerous,” Caddell claimed.
Given the coverage of the 2012 presidential campaign, are you at all surprised that the media apparently gets weak in the knees around Obama as if they’re having a high-school crush?
