A new report has alleged that 19 Kids And Counting star Josh Duggar was named in an underage sexual abuse probe in 2005, and that his own father Jim Bob Duggar was the one who turned him in to Arkansas State Police.
The allegations stem from a report by In Touch magazine, which cited “multiple sources” who have seen a police report or are familiar with the incident. They claim that Josh Duggar could have been subjected to the charge of sexual assault in the fourth degree after his father, Jim Bob, caught him leaving an unidentified young girl’s bedroom before learning that “something inappropriate happened.”

“I saw and read the report and it clearly stated that Jim Bob brought his son Josh into the Arkansas State Police and spoke to a state trooper about Josh’s involvement in alleged inappropriate touching with a minor,” one source told the magazine.
A bizarre turn of events was then responsible for preventing police from investigating Josh Duggar and possibly prosecuting him for the incident, according to the Daily Mail . The state trooper who was responsible for taking the report about Josh Duggar never followed up on the allegations, but was then arrested himself and convicted on charges of child pornography, for which he is now serving a 56-year prison sentence.

An unidentified person from the Arkansas State Police notified the Child Abuse Hotline about the allegations against Josh Duggar after the trooper was charged, but by that time the three-year-long statute of limitations had passed. Though the Crimes Against Children Division and Springdale Police Department became involved in the situation, it would not have been possible to prosecute Josh Duggar even if the claims against him had proven warranted. The investigation, therefore, was terminated.

Earlier this year, In Touch also reported that Josh Duggar and his wife were subjected to a tax lien in January after failing to pay the State of Arkansas. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Josh and Anna Duggar were shown by the state to owe back taxes from 2009 to 2012 totaling in excess of $14,000.
Josh Duggar and his wife reside in Washington, D.C. where he works as a lobbyist for the Family Research Council. Neither the FRC, nor TLC, which airs 19 Kids And Counting , have yet responded to requests for comment regarding the allegations against Josh Duggar.
