The official police report which outlined the alleged crimes committed by Josh Duggar has been released by police and it doesn’t look good for the conservative Christian family. In fact, after the release, the Duggar family has quickly began releasing statements about the molestation with Josh Duggar admitting he made “inexcusable” mistakes. Following the revelations, Josh has resigned from his position with Family Research Council. Interestingly, the police report sheds light on exactly how police were informed about the Duggar family sex scandal and it appears that Oprah played a part in the police investigation being opened. So what new information was provided in the report, and what does the Duggar family have to say about the allegations?

The police report , which was obtained by Hollywood Life through the Freedom of Information Act, suggests that there were five total minor victims who were forcibly fondled on their genitals and breasts by Josh Duggar over the course of a few years. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are said to have handled the issue internally by sending Josh off for some type of “reform” but did not report the incident until a letter was sent to Oprah and forwarded to the police.

The police report alleges that the Duggar family had traveled to Chicago to appear on the Oprah Show. However, before the filming began, a letter was sent to Harpo Studios that suggested the oldest Duggar child may have been involved in some nefarious behavior. As a result, Harpo sent a copy of the letter to the Arkansas police which sparked the investigation.

The startling report indicates that five victims came forward to say that Josh Duggar fondled their breasts and genitals while they were sleeping and occasionally when they were awake. Though the victim’s names have been blacked out of the police document, one damning piece of evidence remains in regards to the identities of the victims.

“The alleged victims are [names blacked out] who live with their parents Michelle and Jim Bob.”

The report indicates that after Jim Bob and Michelle learned of the sexual molestation taking place they sent Josh to work with a friend doing manual labor as punishment. It was also noted that the victims had “forgiven” Josh for his behavior noting that he had asked them personally for forgiveness.

In Touch notes that the family initially refused to bring Josh into the police department for questioning and instead sought help from lawyers. With the police report being printed in both In Touch Magazine and Hollywood Life, the family has started doing damage control by releasing individual statements about the allegations.

Josh Duggar stepped down from his role in the Family Research Council and released a statement in People Magazine .

“Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends. I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing, and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life.”

Josh Duggar will likely not be prosecuted for the sexual molestation charges as the statue of limitations have expired. Also, a victim of Josh Duggar has come forward and requested that the documents be destroyed and expunged from public record as she fears her name will be released and she is still a minor. A judge agreed and signed off today to have the records destroyed by police.

What do you think of the allegations against Josh Duggar? Should they destroy the documents or keep them for future possible prosecution?
