Joseph Gordon-Levitt will talk about his career, and he’ll talk about porn. What he won’t talk about is his sexuality.
The leading man recently sat down with Out magazine, but he wasn’t ready to address gay rumors.
Several allegations hurled in the actors direction have recently claimed that he is gay, but he says it would be tactless to address those rumors.
“That would be really tacky—they would win if I had to clarify,” he told the magazine.
Gordon-Levitt grew up in Hollywood, and he says at a young age he learned about the important of privacy and self-preservation.
“It comes from a really young age,” he said. “It can be really awkward and difficult to be thought of as this thing on TV. Before understanding it or being able to analyze it, I just knew it made me really anxious.”
JGL recently made his directorial debut with Don Jon , and he says of his first directorial project:
“I wasn’t interested in making a movie about pornography. I was interested in making a movie about how people treat each other like things, and all kinds of media can contribute to that. Sometimes I feel I am seen as a thing more than a person, and I don’t think that’s unique to actors.”
In the meantime, Joseph Gordon Levitt continues to astound critics with his recently mature performances and willingness to take on different types of complex roles.

In the meantime, Don Jon is getting some big time praise from fellow actors. Check out this tweet sent to the actors @hitRECordJoe Twitter account from fellow actor Seth Rogen:
Everyone should see Don Jon from @hitRECordJoe . One of the most awesomely directed and hilarious movies I’ve seen in a long ass time.

Do you agree with Gordon-Levitt about the “tacky” nature of answering questions about his sexuality?
