JonBenet’s Brother Interviewed By Dr. Phil After Potential Suspect Is Arrested

After 20 years, the mystery of who killed JonBenet Ramsey had gone cold, but seemingly out of the blue, there is attention in the case. JonBenet’s brother, Burke Ramsey, will appear on Dr. Phil in a three-part interview on the heels of an arrest that is thought to be related to the JonBenet case.

A man named Michael Vail has gone public about the man he says confessed to him that he hurt a little girl in Boulder, Colorado, the same night JonBenet was killed. That man, Gary Oliva, has now been arrested for child pornography and is being held without bond while authorities attempt to link Oliva to the JonBenet case.

Burke Ramsey will appear on Dr. Phil in September for a three-part interview in which he will talk about JonBenet’s murder for the first time, according to the Inquisitr . Burke Ramsey was 9-years-old when someone snuck into the Ramsey home and murdered JonBenet, a 6-year-old beauty queen. For years, parents John and Patricia Bennett Ramsey worked hard to keep Burke’s name out of the press, as several publications accused him of molesting and murdering JonBenet.

In Touch revealed that Burke Ramsey is going on Dr. Phil to not only speak about what he remembers about that day in 1996, but he will also do what he can to reveal and catch JonBenet’s killer. A source close to the Ramsey family says that Burke has a goal in speaking to Dr. Phil.

“More than anything, he wants to use this interview to make a plea to find JonBenét’s real killer — who he believes is still out there.”

But it’s being revealed in an exclusive to In Touch , that the Burke Ramsey interview on Dr. Phil comes on the heels of an arrest and potentially a break in the JonBenet murder case, because a man named Michael Vail is coming forward with evidence that ties someone to the crime. Vail claims that Gary Oliva, an old high school friend, confessed that he hurt a little girl in Boulder, Colorado, on the day and at the time JonBenet was killed.

“He kept moaning, ‘I hurt a little girl. I hurt a little girl,’” Michael told In Touch of the chilling confession that came n the early hours of the night on December 27, 1996, just days after the 6-year-old’s death.

Michael Vail is accusing Gary Oliva of the molestation and murder of JonBenet Ramsey and says that having this information has been troubling him for decades.

“To me, Gary’s call that night was a full confession,” Vail said.

Vail says that he can’t imagine what the Ramsey family has been going through, and wants to see Oliva convicted of the murder.

“This has been an open wound for me. He’s a monster and he needs to be where he can never strike again. No other family should be ripped apart by a predator like him.”

But who is Gary Oliva , and do the Boulder police really think he was involved in the murder of JonBenet Ramsey? The Denver Channel explains that police are not willing to rule Oliva out as a suspect in the JonBenet Ramsey case. Sarah Huntley, a spokesperson for the City of Boulder, admits that Gary Oliva is behind bars at this time for child pornography and is under investigation in the Ramsey case. Oliva was arrested after a cyber tip was sent to The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

“We haven’t ruled him in or out in connection with the Ramsey case,” Huntley explained.

Court documents show that Oliva was arrested for downloading 22 images of child pornography involving children under the age of 10. Huntley understands that the public is interested and that people want to know if the police have finally gotten the killer.

“We certainly understand the interest in Mr. Oliva both in connection with the new charges and his possible connection in the past.”

Before Oliva’s arrest, he was already a registered sex offender, and police can reportedly place him in the proximity of the Ramsey home back in 1996.

The New York Daily News says that Gary Oliva, who was considered a possible suspect early on in the investigation, had an obsession with JonBenet Ramsey. Oliva even wrote a poem for Ramsey after her death called “Ode to JonBenet.”

With the new information that has emerged, CBS has ordered a true crime series that will focus on the details of the JonBenet case with the hope that the killer can finally be brought to justice.
