Jon Cryer Compares Donald Trump To Charlie Sheen, Says They Have A Lot In Common

Two and a Half Men star Jon Cryer stopped by The Real on Tuesday to talk about politics, and during the conversation with the hosts, Cryer compared Donald Trump to his former co-star, Charlie Sheen.

Jon Cryer said that he sees Sheen in Trump, as both of them seem to outright say whatever they’re thinking without censoring their words.

“I worked with a guy who also, whenever he said whatever came to the top of his head, people loved it! And they loved it even more when he said horrible things. So there was an interesting overlap between Charlie and Trump.”

It didn’t stop there. Jon continued to point out similarities between Sheen and Trump, and it was evident that Jon Cryer was not in favor of Trump being the next U.S. president, reported The Huffington Post .

“People like that he’s just willing to say whatever foolishness comes to the top of his head. I don’t want somebody else to ruin everybody else’s lives by coming to power that way.”

Jon Cryer’s words were met with applause from the audience.

“Cause I saw somebody spectacularly flame out and ruin everything that was good in their lives by doing that. “

Jon Cryer and Charlie Sheen played brothers in Two and a Half Men , a CBS sitcom that premiered in 2003. In 2010, Charlie Sheen entered rehab, and the show’s filming was paused. After rehab, Sheen reportedly deemed his $1 million per episode salary too low and threatened to quit the series. He eventually signed a new contract for two more years at $1.78 million per episode.

Because Sheen was going in-and-out of rehab several times in the span of a year, Two and a Half Men was put on hold indefinitely. Charlie Sheen criticized executive producer Chuck Lorre and CBS, which resulted in the termination of the actor.

Sheen’s character was killed off in the series, and he was replaced by Ashton Kutcher. Two and a Half Men ended its 12-season run in February 2015.

At one point, Charlie Sheen even called Cryer a “turncoat, a traitor, and a troll” for not reaching out to him or defending him when he was having problems with Lorre and the studio.

“Jon has not called me. He’s a turncoat, a traitor, a troll… Is it gonna take me calling him a ‘traitor, juvenile and scared’ for him to get it?

“Like I said: You’re with me, or you’re with the trolls. Obviously, he’s with the trolls.”

Charlie Sheen has been flip-flopping when it comes to the presidential candidate that he supports. Last year, CNN Politics reported that Sheen doesn’t want Donald Trump “winning.” He even called America to “wake up” through a tweet that has since been deleted, which read, “hey Trump, ‘A farce or comedy is best played; a tragedy is best read at home’ Abe Lincoln America please WAKE UP! #AnyoneButTrump”

A few months, however, Newsday published an article containing a list of celebrities supporting Donald Trump, and Charlie Sheen was one of them. In August last year, the actor showed his support to Trump and even stated that he would gladly be his vice president, even adding the hashtag #TrumpSheen16.
