Joan Rivers has been upgraded to stable but critical condition. According to Ken Baker from E! News , Rivers is doing okay after a very frightening morning. As previously reported by The Inquisitr , Rivers stopped breathing while in surgery at a clinic in New York. The comedian was undergoing a throat procedure — on her vocal chords — when her heart reportedly stopped. Someone from the doctor’s office called 911 and told the operator that they had a patient who had stopped breathing. Not a long time later, Rivers was rushed to Mount Sinai hospital in Manhattan. The hospital has confirmed that Rivers has been admitted there, but they have not commented on her current condition.
According to the early reports, Rivers was listed in critical condition. According to CNN, Rivers suffered cardiac arrest . However, there seems to be a lot of positivity surrounding Rivers’ condition, especially from E! , where the only official announcement came from.
UPDATE: Joan Rivers is in critical but stable condition. Keeping her in our thoughts and prayers.

According to The Mirror , Joan Rivers was put into a medically induced coma . Doctors are planning on bringing her out of the coma this weekend. It is unclear why Rivers was placed in a coma, but many suspect that doctors have done so to allow her body to recuperate.
According to Radar Online , Joan’s daughter Melissa was en route to the hospital just after she found out the news. Melissa has not made any statement since the frightening news broke earlier this morning, but it is believed that she is by her mother’s side.
Rivers was rushed to the hospital just before 10 a.m. EST, and there have not been any updates for a few hours. Several rumors have been going around on social media, and people are really waiting to hear more information, hoping that Rivers pulls through.
