Jimmy Fallon is well-known for his lip-sync battles on his own show, and this week he went head to head with Dwayne Johnson on Spike’s own lip-sync battle. It has been something fans of the battles had been looking forward to over the last two weeks, and they were definitely not disappointed in the end result. Best known as “The Rock,” the former wrestler took to the stage to sing along to Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off,” entertaining the masses especially with the rap section of the song.

According to People magazine, Johnson took to the stage to open the battle with his version of the song. He even did the “mmms” clearly for the audience and went on to flip Fallon and LL Cool J off during the first chorus, making both laugh out loud surprised at his actions. During the song, Dwayne Johnson had fun dancing along to the track, showing there is a softie underneath.

Jimmy was not about to let the man get away with the lip-syncing belt, so took to the stage to perform Madonna’s “Like a Prayer.” It started off semi-normal, but he soon took it up a notch to give Dwayne a real battle. A backing dancer brought out a robe and his “entourage” turned up to dance along as if they were a choir.

Rolling Stone quickly pointed out that Dwayne Johnson was not about to be outdone . Once they were fully composed, he came out dressed in an outfit that mimicked John Travolta from Saturday Night Fever and sang along to “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees . He even had a team of backing dancers to keep everyone entertained. Who knew that the Fast and the Furious actor could dance?

The two were not the only ones to go head to head in the Spike battle. Common and John Legend also took the floor, surprising and entertaining the masses. Legend performed MC Hammer’s “Can’t Touch This” flawlessly, doing the running man without any issue. Common performed “All Night Long” by Lionel Richie.

In the end, Fallon had to concede the title to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The “Stayin’ Alive” rendition was just far too good, even after the “Like a Prayer” performance. However, there are mixed reviews. You can make your own decision over who won by checking out the video below. Did Dwayne Johnson rightfully take the belt, or should it have gone to Jimmy Fallon?
