Jessica Simpson could be headed to rehab to address her out-of-control partying and subscription drug abuse, and the singer’s mom may be joining her.
Reports circulated in the last week that the 34-year-old actress and singer may be under pressure to go to rehab to address her drinking problems. Sources said Jessica’s mom, Tina, was the one pushing for rehab, and that Tina planned to join Jessica during the visit.
“Jessica’s drinking has gotten out of control, and she uses Adderall as a diet drug,” a source explained told Life & Style (via Radar Online ). “One minute she’s fine and the next minute she’s talking nonsense and acting all crazy.”
Jessica Simpson reportedly had a troubling incident at her brother-in-law Evan Ross’ performance earlier this month. Sources say she was stumbling and needed required help from husband Eric Johnson to exit the Los Angeles nightclub.
The incident led some friends to speak out, saying anonymously that Jessica is struggling staying sober. They are reportedly concerned that Jessica has gone too far using Adderall, which they say she takes to stay thin.
Family members reportedly tried to confront Jessica Simpson about her addiction, but it didn’t go well.
“The family dinner started off as a nice conversation about how she should maybe cut back on her workouts and dieting, but it turned into a heated fight. [Sister] Ashlee really called her out and told her she needed to get help, but Jessica freaked and ran out in tears. Now everyone’s on pins and needles about what to do.”
There is some speculation that the pressure to lose the baby weight and stay thin may be getting to Simpson. She was famous for trimming down after her first child was born and even signed a multi-million dollar endorsement deal with Weight Watchers.
But the pressure may still be a lot for Jessica, who works in an industry where looks are very important.
But now Jessica’s mother may be trying to get through to her daughter again. Sources say she is trying to get Jessica to go to rehab and will reportedly join her daughter, dealing with her own drinking problems.
“Going to rehab with Jessica means she can kill two birds with one stone,” the source told Life & Style . “Tina sees it as a win-win for mother and daughter.”
Neither Jessica Simpson nor her family has spoken publicly about any potential abuse problems or plan to go to rehab.
