There is a troubling YouTube video going viral, titled “Jessica Lynn Sanders Chicago Racist,” which was uploaded to YouTube on July 31. The video is quickly gaining views — up to more than 50,000 as of this writing — because of the shocking content it contains.
Warning: The following “Jessica Lynn Sanders Chicago Racist” YouTube video contains language that might be disturbing to some viewers.
As reported by Heavy , the woman who can be seen in the viral video who spat at a Chicago teacher’s wife and called him the N-word repeatedly is Jessica Lynn Sanders. The publication also reports that Sanders deleted her Facebook account.
Ernest Crim III describes himself as a teacher in Chicago who fights for social justice.
“Mr. Crim is a teacher in the southwest suburbs of Chicago who is dedicated to social, economic and political justice and health & wellness.”
As the video begins, a man’s voice can be heard asking Jessica to repeat what she had just said. The video footage goes swirling out of control onto the ground, indicative of the smartphone’s camera being knocked out of his hand, as Ernest claims Sanders did. Crim and his wife Cassie were enjoying the Margarita Festival at the South Shore Cultural Center in Chicago when Ernest claimed the incident occurred after a dispute over bean bags.
Crim’s Facebookpage also contains a copy of the video interaction with Sanders. That Facebook video has been viewed more than 336,000 times on Facebook alone — and has been shared nearly 8,000 times. In Ernest’s Facebook description, he gives more details about the interaction with Jessica.
“So, I’m with my wife at the #ChicagoMargaritaFest when we decide to play the Bean Bag Toss game. Our section didn’t have any bean bags so we retrieved one that was tossed far by a group of four next to us that had at least 10 to themselves.”
“One lady in that group (a white lady) called me and my wife a “n*****.” Additionally, she proceeded to spit on my wife in an effort to provoke us to assault her. This is America in 2016. This is why I’m angry.”
“Thankfully, security immediately grabbed her, handcuffed her and threw her out. However, we don’t know her name and we want to press charges. #PleaseShare #BeingBlack #ChicagoMargaritaFest”
“EDIT: Thanks to YOU I found out her identity. Thank you.”
According to Facebook, the search term “Jessica Lynn Sanders Chicago” has more than 72,000 people talking about Sanders.
Meanwhile, Crim has been keeping people updated about the situation on Twitter, as can be seen in one of the following tweets. Ernest wrote about how traumatizing the incident was for him and his wife. Crim also wrote about his own amazing restraint in the face of such blatant hate.
Lots of people are also asking Crim on Twitter about the African-American man and woman who appeared in the video, standing next to Jessica. While it isn’t certain if they were with Sanders, Crim did reveal that the black man had been playing the bean bag tossing game with Sanders — and seemed to stand there without doing anything as Jessica launched into the N-word tirade.
In the video, Crim wonders aloud what would happen if he had hit Jessica. That’s when Sanders lobbed more N-words at him.
“You’re a n*****, if you hit me, you’re a n*****. You’re acting like a n*****.”
The reaction to the shocking video is coming quickly across social media as folks share it via Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Crim explained on Twitter that Jessica’s group had about 10 bean bags to themselves, so when one of them came sailing Crim’s way and no one sought it out — Crim and his wife began to play with it. That’s when Crim claimed Jessica launched into her N-word tirade when Sanders couldn’t get the bean bag back from Crim.
Crim said Jessica tried to call security on him and his wife, but — as reported by Mic — Chicago Police revealed that Jessica was the person that security kicked out of the festival.
Sanders had a battery report filed against her by Ernest and Cassie. Crim is hoping Jessica will be arrested.
