Jessa Duggar Explains Why Jill Got A Bigger House, Tours Her Moldy Future Home [Video]

Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald’s wedding plans were a big part of the season premiere of 19 Kids and Counting . However, the soon-to-be newlyweds’ biggest premarital issue had nothing to do with choosing tuxes or venues — the couple was faced with a huge problem when they found out that their future home was full of mold.

The house in question became a hot tabloid topic late last year when OK! Magazine reported that Jessa Duggar was jealous of Jill Duggar’s much bigger mini-mansion. After Jill and Derick Dillard got married, Jim Bob told them that they could live in one of the properties he owns: a 4,000 square foot, $1.5 million house with four bedrooms. Jessa and Ben’s home is tiny in comparison. According to the Duggar Family Blog , their love nest is a 960 square foot home with two bedrooms and one bathroom. Grandma Duggar owns the property, so Jessa and Ben are getting a discount on their rent — if they’re still living there, that is.

During last night’s episode of 19 Kids and Counting , Jessa Duggar told Ben Seewald about the history of the home. According to PEOPLE , Josh Duggar and his wife Anna lived there for five years. Anna even gave birth to Michael in the bathroom while sitting on the toilet. The couple realized that space was becoming a major issue during season 11 when a heavily-pregnant Anna had to crawl underneath the dining room table to get to the kitchen.

The house remained unoccupied after Anna and Josh took their expanding family to Washington D.C., and Jessa and Ben discovered that their future home was suffering from a pretty bad mold problem after being neglected for so long. However, Jessa claimed that she’s not jealous that her sister Jill got to move into a larger, mold-free house after she got married. E! Online shared a clip of the Duggar daughter sharing her thoughts about the house situation .

“The reason why Jill got the big house was because it’s really close to Derick’s work and so it’s kind of the opposite of town,” she said.

However, her younger brother Jason chimed in to point out that Jill probably got the house because she got married first. Ben and Jessa started courting before Jill and Derick, but the latter couple beat Benessa to the altar.

Jessa explained why she’s not bitter about her sister potentially screwing her out of the fancier home.

“We don’t mind though, really. That’s a lot of work to keep up with. They have three floors. It’s got to be a lot of work.”

However, Ben Seewald seemed to hint that there’s a slight couple rivalry going on when he responded to Derick and Jill’s baby news — he complained that the expectant couple beat Benessa to yet another big milestone.

Jessa and Ben don’t appear to be in any rush to have kids. While talking to the 19 Kids and Counting camera crew, Jessa revealed that she plans on turning their spare bedroom into a guest room, not a nursery. As the Inquisitr previously reported, there’s a chance that the couple might not stay in the home for long — Ben wants to be a minister, so there’s a high likelihood that he and Jessa will have to move whenever he can find a job.

Luckily, it looks like Benessa found a mold-free place to live while they figure out their future. Judging from one of Jessa Duggar’s recent Instagram photos , the couple either majorly renovated Josh’s old house or moved into a different house.

Jessa and Ben’s marriage preparations and Jill Duggar’s pregnancy announcement weren’t the only memorable moments on last night’s episode of 19 Kids and Counting . Michelle Duggar admitted that Joy Anna never gets a break from playing nanny/maid when she said that the poor girl should enjoy the downtime she was getting after having her wisdom teeth taken out. Derick also shared his two biggest complaints about Jill: she talks too loud and she cooks too much food for two people. Jill said that both habits are side effects of growing up in a very large, very noisy family. She also admitted that she wants to have children so that her new house won’t be so quiet.

Do you believe Jessa Duggar when she says that she’s not jealous of Jill’s house?
