Jennifer Lawrence has faced a tough few months. She’s appeared in multiple waves of The Fappening, not to mention has probably been one of the most viewed actresses of the bunch. Devoted supporters of the leak have continued to terrorize Lawrence, this time trying to make sure The Fappening stays a part of her history by editing the actress’ Wikipedia page to feature the leaked nude photos of her, reported Jezebel .
Tuesday morning, Lawrence’s Wikipedia photo alternated between two separate nudes that were leaked of her during the first wave of The Fappening . Concerned fans began to tweet to Wikipedia when they noticed that Jennifer’s photos were being tampered with.
Although few details have ermeged about how Jennifer’s nude photos ended up on her Wikipedia page, it does recall when Emma Watson was threatened by hackers after giving a widely circulated speech on feminism last week. Similarly, Lawrence spoke out about The Fappening for the first time Tuesday in an extensive interview with Vanity Fair . Less than 24 hours later, the naked edit appeared on Jennifer’s Wikipedia page. Some fans noted the coincidence.
so the day jennifer lawrence calls her photos leaking a form of sexual assault someone hacks her wikipedia page to display then. PATRIARCHY!

Lawrence’s Wikipedia hack comes alongside confessions of the pain and humiliation that the actress recalled in her interview with Vanity Fair . Whether or not Jennifer releases a statement about this newest violation of her privacy remains to be seen. Lawrence said that she found it extremely difficult to discuss The Fappening publicly when it first occurred in August.
“[Every] single thing that I tried to write made me cry or get angry. I started to write an apology, but I don’t have anything to say I’m sorry for. I was in a loving, healthy, great relationship for four years. It was long distance, and either your boyfriend is going to look at porn or he’s going to look at you.”
While Wikipedia seems to have immediately taken care of the briefly appearing nude photos, Jennifer also noted that she believes sites like Reddit are responsible for the content that they host, and that they should held accountable for perpetuating leaks of personal information in events like The Fappening.
“It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime. It is a sexual violation. It’s disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change. That’s why these web sites are responsible. Just the fact that somebody can be sexually exploited and violated, and the first thought that crosses somebody’s mind is to make a profit from it. It’s so beyond me. I just can’t imagine being that detached from humanity. I can’t imagine being that thoughtless and careless and so empty inside.”
Do you think Jennifer Lawrence’s Wikipedia hack was revenge for speaking out against The Fappening?
