Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans’ estranged husband, Courtland Rogers, has been placed under suicide watch after checking himself into the hospital earlier this week.
Rogers told RadarOnline , “I wanted to die because I wasn’t with Jenelle. I just didn’t know how to deal with the pain that I’m not with her.”
Evans and Rogers have been estranged for several weeks now, following allegations that Rogers cheated on his then-pregnant wife. Shortly afterward, Evans said that she was filing from divorce from her husband of less than two and a half months. That same day, she filed assault charges against Rogers.
According to Hollywood Life , Evans will not be able to divorce her husband until next year. Evans’ attorney Dustin Sullivan said, “North Carolina requires a one year separation period before she’s even elligible to be divorced.” He added that the law is in place to prevent people from getting quick divorces.
Sullivan also said that, since Evans filed charges against Rogers on January 23, it’s “safe to say that they are separated” and that the separation period will most likely be over at the end of January 2014.
Sullivan said Evans had mentioned wanting an annulment, but he informed that it was difficult to obtain one in North Carolina. He also told her to hold off on filing for a divorce or an annulment until after the charges against Rogers are sorted out.
Despite all of the drama between them, Rogers insists that he just wants to be back with Evans.
“I am going to get healthy in this hospital,” Rogers said. “I’ve been under suicide watch and I don’t even have shoelaces. All I want is my wife back. Jenelle is my best friend and I miss her.”
