Jay Leno continued his attacks on NBC by joking that he had been stabbed in the back by the network.

The Tonight Show host made more jokes about his employers on Friday night’s show. The remarks round off what has been a very tense week between the comedian and the network.

“Doctors in Canada were shocked after pulling a 3-inch knife blade from the back of a 32-year old man,” Leno said during his monologue. “The knife had been in there for three years! Imagine that, the guy had a knife in his back for three years. He must’ve worked at NBC too. I was stunned by that.”

Jay Leno’s thinly-veiled attacks on the network didn’t stop there. He soon followed up this joke with another barb at his bosses’ expense.

“Have you heard about this alleged feud that I’m having with NBC?” the Tonight Show host asked the audience . “I think it’s going to be OK. I had dinner last night with a bunch of executives [and] to make it up me, what they did, they are sending my wife and I on an all-expenses-paid Carnival cruise.”

Friday’s nights jokes were the latest remarks Leno has directed towards his employer. NBC entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt reportedly sent emails to Leno warning him about the comments he was making about the network. Leno defiantly fired off more jokes in response.

“Well you know the whole legend of St. Patrick, right? St. Patrick drove all the snakes out of Ireland, and then they came here to the United States and became NBC executives,” Leno said. “It’s a fascinating, fascinating story.”

Reports have suggested that Jimmy Fallon would take over The Tonight Show once its current host had departed. It’s also being suggested that Fallon will move the show to New York City if he gets the gig.
