Jay Carney was not suffering from foot in mouth disease once again as he claimed Obama wasn’t thinking about the 2016 Presidential election . Then again, this is the same Jay Carney who opined that “Benghazi happened a long time ago.”
As previously reported by The Inquisitr , President Obama’s approval rating is worse than George W. Bush , making a 2016 Obama campaign even less likely even if were legal. Maybe Obama and Arnold Schwarzenegger will team up for this one .
Jay Carney was asked about the 2016 Presidential elections recently. After all, the rumor mill has Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and even Michelle Obama lining up to be the US President in 2016. So when Jay Carney was asked if President Obama would get involved in the Democratic primaries somehow the answer was slightly surprising:
“The president is not thinking about 2016.”
We’re assuming Barack Obama isn’t planning on running himself alongside Michelle Obama , with Mr. Obama as Vice President. After all, there was talk about that scenario if Hillary Clinton decided to run. He can’t for a third term based upon the law. But conservatives might gladly point out that President Obama hasn’t been that great about honoring the Constitution, so why should that change now?
Jay Carney also defended Obamacare, saying, “You’re going to find out you get better insurance, that’s a guarantee, better minimum coverage and at same or lower cost because you’ll qualify for a tax credit.” This was essentially a restatement of an Obama campaign from 2009 :
“Let me be exactly clear about what health care reform means to you. First of all, if you’ve got health insurance, you like your doctors, you like your plan, you can keep your doctor, you can keep your plan. Nobody is talking about taking that away from you.”
But health policy expert Bob Laszewski claims roughly 16 million Americans will lose their current plans because of Obamacare. Amazingly enough, Jay Carney agreed to those numbers but downplayed them by referring to only five percent, which 15.6 million people.
