Boyhood Arsenal fan-turned-player Jack Wilshere has been caught on video leading a potty mouthed chant about Arsenal’s rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal won the F.A. Cup final against Aston Villa after emphatically defeating them 4-0 at Wembley on Saturday afternoon. Their victory meant they retained the F.A. cup after winning it in the 2013-14 season.
Goals from Sanchez, Mertesacker, Giroud, and Walcott were more than enough to ensure that Arsenal would have their hands on the F.A. Cup once again. This also means that Arsenal are the first team since 2004 to win an F.A. Cup final by more than one goal.
Thousands of fans were waiting in the wet weather at the F.A. Cup victory parade, where the Arsenal squad took an open-topped bus from the Emirates Stadium to Islington Town Hall.
When the team returned to the Emirates several hours later, fans were treated to a showing of the F.A. Cup by captain Mikel Arteta and vice-captain Per Mertesacker. When the squad had engaged in the festivities, and the celebrations had taken full swing, Wilshere (in a repeat of last year) grabbed the microphone and asked the crowd; “What do we think of Tottenham? And what do we think of ****?” to which the crowd replied “We hate Tottenham,” then Wilshere led the crowd in a chant called “My old man said be a Tottenham fan,” which once again features expletives aimed at Tottenham from start to finish. The microphone was taken from Wilshere twice, though he managed to get hold of it multiple times.
Arsenal TV, who were live-streaming the victory parade’s broadcast, had to momentarily switch off the stream, apologizing immediately for Wilshere’s outburst.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Wilshere has hit headlines for his rampant, hooliganistic anti-Tottenham behaviour . In 2011, he was reported to the police for attempting to spit in a taxi driver’s face, the reason for the attack being that he [the taxi driver] was wearing a Tottenham Hotspur beanie. But these disgraceful actions were excused as he was only a young footballer.
“Jack is only 19 and adjusting to life in the spotlight. He realises his behaviour was wrong and he is full of remorse.”
A prolifically injury prone player, Wilshere only made fourteen league appearances for Arsenal this year, his total league contributions consisting of two goals and one assist. This hasn’t stopped Manchester City being attracted to him, as they look to bulk up their home-grown player roster.
It remains to be released as to whether Wilshere will face an F.A. punishment for his outburst.
