Prince William just started his position with the East Anglican Air Ambulance in July, with his first shift taking place at Cambridge Airport on July 13. He is a co-pilot and is an experienced one, having served in the British military. The prince had waited to start his job due to the birth of Princess Charlotte, and his duties as a royal prince, but is now back with his team, helping to rescue helpless victims.

Hello! magazine reports that shortly after returning to his job with the East Anglican Air Ambulance, Prince William also helped rescue a man who suffered a heart attack. William’s team transported the victim to the Norwich University Hospital. During that rescue, Prince William also attracted attention.

One witness said at the time, “I saw the air ambulance come down and I thought I would have a look to see what was happening. When I initially went over, I did not think about Prince William being there .”

The prince was there, however, and caused quite a stir. “People then realised it was the Prince and started to get really excited. I zoomed in with my camera and got some nice pictures of him. He did not look our way, but he is doing his job and can’t be spending all this time waving at onlookers.”

Prince William also made news last week when he announced that Edward Ndiritu, head of the Anti-Poaching Unit for the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya which helps rescue animals, is the first recipient of the Wildlife Ranger Award. The award is sponsored by Prince William’s conservation charity, Tusk Trust.
