Jared Padalecki is a proud papa and about to start diaper duty!
Padalecki and his wife, actress Genevieve Cortese welcomed their first child on Monday. Cortese gave birth to a healthy baby boy!
The 29-year-old Supernatural actor took to his Twitter page to announce the exciting news to his fans. “It’s a boy :)” he tweeted. Padalecki’s friend, actor D.J. Qualls, replied back saying, “Yay! I love you, buddy!” He replied back with, “ditto :)”.
Last November the exciting news hit the Internet that the couple was expecting a baby boy. Padalecki spoke with Us Magazine where he said they plan on having a natural childbirth with a midwife. “I’m taking the epidural shots!” he joked.
“We’ve thrown around countless names, probably every one in the books, and a few that we kinda made up, but we both agree that we’d like to meet our child before we decide on a name,” Padalecki told Tonic about their process on choosing a name.
Don’t expect to hear their little boy’s name anytime soon since he admitted that because he wants to meet the kid, it might be short while before they decide the name of their firstborn son. “We don’t want to put it out there, like try and turn him into something before we meet the kid,” he said. “We want to get a feel for who this kid is before we name him.”
The couple married in Sun Valley, Idaho on February 27, 2010.
