Jacqueline Laurita’s contract with Bravo wasn’t renewed after the fifth season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey . However, half-way through Season 6, producers brought Laurita back. Now they are convinced she is necessary to their show’s success, and have reportedly offered her a full-time spot on season seven.
As The Inquisitr reported earlier this week, Laurita recently announced her Season 7 return . At the time, she also expressed interest in bringing up her feud with Dina Manzo.
“Production has made it very clear that they want Jacqueline back,” a show insider told Radar Online on October 24. “And they don’t want her back just for cameos, either. Production is planning to offer Jacqueline as a contract for a full-time housewife.”
Amid Season 6, Jacqueline Laurita returned to the show, but only in a recurring role. Previously, Laurita had been featured as an official housewife. As soon as Laurita returned, ratings on the series, which had been on the decline, saw a boost. As expected, producers took note.
“It was very clear with an examination of the ratings that Jacqueline’s appearance had a huge impact on the show,” the source said. “Bravo is certain that with her back on the show, the ratings would continue to be strong.”
Also this week, as reported by The Inquisitr , Radar Online revealed the real reason behind Jacqueline Laurita’s feud with Dina Manzo. According to the report, Manzo had been holding a grudge since Season 1, when Danielle Staub’s book caused a stir among cast members. Manzo allegedly threw Laurita under the bus in regard to who exposed the book, and was outed by several cast members as a result.
“Bravo is now interested in capitalizing on the feud between Dina and Jacqueline,” the source explained. “They would love to see them hash this out on the screen, as they are certain this would also bring the ratings and the drama.”
While Manzo recently revealed she had no interest in returning to the show, the source claims she could change her mind.
“Dina needs the money, especially since there was a prenuptial agreement between her and her soon to be ex-husband, Tommy Manzo,” said the insider. “If the money on the table is right, Dina will likely agree.”
The ongoing feud between Jacqueline Laurita and Dina Manzo was a hot topic at the Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion taping earlier this month. As Radar Online reported, “Manzo sniped that she wished someone would use glue and concrete to keep Laurita’s mouth shut,” when her tensions with Caroline were brought up.
