The iPhone 5S will launch on Tuesday, and anyone who wants to watch live as Apple unveils its new product will have plenty of options.
Apple has scheduled a news announcement for Tuesday at 1 pm ET (10 am PT), one that is expected to be broadcast live over the internet. For a final live report from The Inquisitr go to the article on the iPhone 5S, 5C launch event from Apple .
The phone has been the subject of speculation and rumors for months, with leaks pointing to some of the features likely to be included in the iPhone 5S. Instead of an entirely new version of the mobile device, the latest version of the iPhone is expected to be more of an updated version if the iPhone 5, which launched last year.
Some of the new features expected to be announced on the iPhone 5S include a fingerprint security system that allows users to sign in with one simple swipe. The phone will also have the iOS 7 operating system, one that abandons the visual cues once included on apps for a more modern look.
But it appears some of the other rumored aspects of the phone won’t pan out . Leaks once centered on a fingerprint system that would give users the ability to tap-to-pay with their iPhone at cash registers, but it now seems that the security system will be the only application of Apple’s new fingerprint technology, at least for now. Users hoping to see a bigger screen will apparently have to wait as well.
The iPhone 5S won’t be the only announcement on Tuesday. Apple is also expected to unveil the iPhone 5C, a low-cost and lower-key version of the smartphone that will be available in a number of colors. It’s being considered a replacement to the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S.
Aside from live coverage of the iPhone 5S launch, there are plenty of tech outlets waiting to give instant analysis on the Apple announcement. ABC News is also offering a live blog of the iPhone 5S unveiling, starting at 1 pm, and CNET also has its own live blog of the proceedings .
